For those of you who are preggo, will you be having a small glass of wine (or champagne...) over the holidays? If we lived in Europe....

I've been telling my husband since I got pregnant that the only alcohol I will have will be a glass of Prosecco on New Year's Eve. I can't wait!

@mrsjazz: I have been saying that I would have a glass of red wine on Christmas all along!! (my husband is working new years so I'll likely just be having a quiet night)

I won't be. I just worry too much to be ok with it personally. A glass of wine sounds so good though!

I'm almost 14 weeks now, and in the last two weeks I've had two tiny glasses of wine (like one inch in a glass). I will probably have a little at the holidays, but not sure if I will do it around a ton of family because I don't want all the extended fam to judge me. But when it's just DH and I, I feel fine with my choice.

@mamabolt: It's funny how the judging plays a role! I will be 18 weeks at Christmas and am worried what my MIL will think! But, DH keeps urging me to have a glass every now and again (he's a doctor and keeps saying it's good for me...) - I did have a sip of champagne with clients when I won a trial. But, other than that haven't had anything.

Oh my mouth is watering right about now... I will only be 12 w3d on New Years Eve... so I'm going to pass on the alcohol this year. But I would LOVE a glass of champagne. Maybe I'll sneak a sip!! LOL!
I might have 1/2 a glass of wine or champagne later in my pregnancy (occasionally) but I think it's too early right now.

Nope. I took a sniff and a super small sip (like less than a church sip) of my husband's wine at Thanksgiving and it did nothing for me. I'm so happy about that! I will probably go out and buy some sparkling grape juice for New Years.

I’m planning on having a small glass of champagne on NYE or wine at Christmas. We’re flying home on NYE so that might not work out, but we’ll definitely have wine at Christmas. I had a bit (about 4 sips) of wine the other night, but it gave me really bad heartburn, so hoping that doesn’t happen on Christmas.
I’m currently 1 day shy of 16 weeks.

I'm not a drinker, so no! We'll probably pick up some sparkling cider

I never drank even when I wasnt pregnant so I definitely wont be drinking now that I am pregnant. sparkling cider is the way to go!

Nope, I know medically (friends and SIL are doctors) that it's fine, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Yes, I have a couple of sips of wine and the occasional sampler of microbrew beer here and there since the second trimester started. I have no problem with it, and usually after a sip or two I'm done anyway. My biggest craving in pregnancy was actually for a sip of cheap white zin!
I am dying for a margarita after the boy comes!

Nah! I think 1 glass is not enough So I'll have virgin bloody ceasars.

I'm only 7w4ds today, so I'll be skipping any and all alcohol over the holidays. If I were further along, I'd probably have a small glass to celebrate! Cheers to those of you enjoying one

Yes, I will be having a glass of wine and/or champagne over the holidays and I don't feel the slightest bit worried about it. I lived in Europe for a long time and definitely have that attitude towards drinking during pregnancy - not to mention my doctor here sees nothing wrong with the occasional glass.
DH and I are spending Christmas - New Year on an island in the South Pacific so whilst I won't indulge in any frozen tropical drinks, I will have the odd glass of wine with dinner and possibly champagne on New Years Eve.
My plan was to get out of the first trimester before having the odd glass and as I am 14 weeks today, that works just fine. Also, I don't look the slightest bit pregnant so I shouldn't have any issues with people giving me funny looks,

Me! Me! Meeeeeeeee!!!!!
At that point, I'll only have 2.5 weeks left so I'm kind of hoping it might help her to come sooner

Nope, only because the smell of wine has made me want to vomit lately.
However, I have been having cravings for DARK WINTER BEER, so I have had sips of my husband's a couple times during the holidays. Never had my own, but just the sips were so satisfying!

I chickened out and didn't have a full glass....but did have a few sips of DH's....

And I didn't buy any dealcoholized wine because when looking for the 'best review' online, I found that the stuff is unanimously declared to be terrible, always.

@cvbee: I tried Ariel brand non-alcoholic wine - I very strongly recommend skipping it!!

I had a few glasses of wine whilst on holiday and thoroughly enjoyed every drop. I was really hoping I'd be one of those people who tasted it and really hated it during pregnancy, but alas, that first glass tasted amazing! I had a small glass every other evening whilst on our week long holiday and now I'm done until the next special occasion. Since I started the second tri, I have really relaxed a lot and I find I'm enjoying the pregnancy a lot more - mainly because I'm just not stressing about every little thing now!

I have sips from DH's beer and my mom's wine glass periodically. But am really jonesing to pour myself my own (mini) glass of wine. We're having date night on Saturday, so I might make DH order wine so I can have half a glass. I guess I'm just a European girl at heart!

@Ree723: Me too. Had a small glass of champagne Christmas Eve, then a glass of red wine a few days later at a belated Christmas celebration, and about a 1/3 of a beer a few days after that. Tasted so good.

I had a glass once a week during the second half of my pregnancy. My doula and ob said it was fine. But then again, I live outside of the US so no one got all judgy. For me it was a relaxing treat!

@winniebee: I had two sips of champagne. I would have had a glass but I was DD.
