LO is 20 months old and has JUST (like, yesterday) started saying her name. I'll point to myself and ask, "Who's this?" and she'll say, "Mama." Then I'll point to her and say, "Who's this?" and she'll say her name...Wrong...But at least she can say something resembling her name.

@Maysprout: How funny. I've heard of the same thing from some of my other mommy friends. It's like they get shy or something. They all outgrew it though.

Yep! She calls herself her Korean name (it's sooooo cute!) and she also knows her English name too.

My DS is 18 months and will not say his name. He knows everyone else's. he will pound on his own chest and say "mama" though. I thought maybe he can't pronounce his name but.. He will imitate the sounds that make up his name just fine. I'm guessing he's just having fun with me.

So funny! For a few months now, my youngest (almost 21 months) would always say her name was her older sister's when we would ask. She says it and then smiles, so I know she's joking. It was a little frustrating sometimes though... But yeah, it's a common hang up I guess?

Finally, like two days ago, she started saying her name. So cute! But there are still times I ask her and she refuses. Hehe, feisty toddlers!
