How in the world do you stay comfortable??? I'm an accountant, so I spend the majority of my day sitting at my desk. I'm 25 weeks, and my back is absolutely killing me!!! I can't sit still! All I want to do it walk around and stretch!
Any tips??

@MrsBrewer: Not sure if it's any better but can you get your desk raised and stand at your desk? Though, it's probably not good that you are standing all day.

@bluestriped bee: hmm probably not, they are all pretty standard cubicles where I'm at, and I totally doubt they would do anything like that for me! hahhah Just being honest.

@LindsayInNY: yoga ball, now that just sounds fun! LOL But I haven't thought of a lumbar support, that sounds like a really good idea actually!!

I "borrowed" a trash can from an empty cube and keep it turned upside down under my desk to prop my feet on. I just have to get up and walk around every so often; it's good for your circulation too.

I brought a pillow in and I would make sure I got up often. Even if it was just to make a quick lap around the office.

Ditto @krispi about the foot rest, took a lot of walks (to the furthest water cooler since I needed that too!), and lots of prenatal massages From about 25 weeks on, I had one every week just because my back was killing me.

I also used a trashcan footrest and made sure to walk around every hour. I also would stand for at least 5-10 mins after walking around the office.

What about a hot water bottle? I'm 15 weeks and have been having some back pain regularly. Currently sitting with a hot water bottle behind my back and it feels soooo goooooood! You could bring a little electric kettle to work to fill it up!

Can you request a footrest? When I was pregnant with my first I ran into someone from Office Services in the hall and he asked if I wanted one. It's not perfect but it definitely helps.

I used to switch around between sitting in a chair normally but with my feet up (I just piled a bunch of boxes under my desk for a makeshift footrest) and then sitting with my chair backwards so that I could lean forward on it. My co-workers still joke about how they thought I was going to tip over one day on that backwards chair.

I brought a pillow in. Started out sitting on it, when I had a lot of tailbone pain in the second trimester, and then put it behind me when I got huge and my low back was the problem. Good luck!

I don't know if this will help your type of back pain, but I've been using a Backjoy support. It keeps me sitting with good posture and prevents some of the lumbar pain I've been having.

Drink tons of water, which you need anyway and you'll get built-in walk/stretch breaks when you need to run to the ladies room

I put a blanket under me, or behind my back. I got up a lot to walk around. I also sat in, probably bad for your back positions, but I got comfortable and didn't care.

Yoga balls are great! I think they make ones with a frame around them so they dont roll all over the office. They really help your posture.... and i second the foot rest but i dont think you can do both .... I used a milk crate (from target) and had Hubs cut square of wood and covered it with batting and fabric.... now LO uses it for her dress up stuff

I have an amazing desk chair and didn't feel too uncomfortable until the end.
Can you get a more supportive chair?
