DH works from home. He works on the computer and makes his calls and cares for DS. They have activities they do with two naps, and two meals. DS loves independent play as well. It's a pretty balanced day all in all.

My company won't allow you to work from home while watching a baby regularly. I've been in on many calls where you can hear a baby crying or babbling while you're trying to have a meeting. It really depends on what you would be doing, but it's less than ideal if you have interaction with others and will be on calls because it's not professional and is distracting.

However, one of my friends worked from home two days a week and her mom would come over if she had a conference call but mostly she did her work very very early, when he napped, and then late into the evening while her husband was home to watch the baby. It made for some very long days and she got burnt out very quickly.

There is a baby store around here where moms bring their babies to work, though. They wear them in a carrier most of the day and tend to customers. They seem awfully chill, though!

I take my son to work every day. I work in a small office and for my FIL. His father brought him to work and he brought my husband to work, so he insisted I bring my son. He's been coming to work with me since 6 weeks (he's 9.5 months now), and so far it's been fine. There are tough days, but for the most part, he's a really good baby and we make it work.

When he was smaller, I baby wore him a lot to get things done. Then I would do the bulk of my work while he was napping. Now that he's mobile, we just super baby proofed the office and he crawls all over and plays by himself quite a bit when he's awake. I keep a push-car (little tykes cruiser) there and we take 10 min. walks a couple times a day since he loves to go outside. I do much of my work during his 2 naps. I also count on the other two girls at the office to watch him here and there when I have to get something done. They adore him, so it's not a big deal.

On days I know I I will be swamped, I do drop him off with my MIL.

Also, he's been there long enough that almost everyone I deal with knows he's there and that sometimes I have to deal with him before I can get to them. A lot of then email me now instead of call. And a lot also come by because they want to see him. He's become sort of a mascot.

This is interesting for me because I am thinking about doing this when I have to go back to work. I have my own office and I mostly do emails so I am going to float it by my boss. It just isn't worth it for me to go back if I have to pay for childcare.
