"if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life."
Definitely not the case for me. On a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being hate it, 5 being love it, how do you feel about your job?
I'm somewhere around a 2, when it's not tax season maybe a 3.

I just started a new job and, although it's a great opportunity and hood money, I feel like I gave up a job where I was much happier.

I don't hate it or love it. The job is fine, buy I. Do really like my coworkers a lot. Sometimes I get really annoyed about certain things and just think-- 4 more months (til my eternity leave).

I just went through a major career transition out of something i liked and into something I like even more that feels more like a 'calling'. It's definitely not the perfect situation (benefits are terrible and pay is meh) so I'm going to keep moving toward my 'dream', but I gave it a 4 for now.

It's a job. I like the people for the most part. I work for a paycheck and make too much to quit.

I'm a proposal consultant. I typically love my job. This morning though not so much. I worked 'til 11pm last night.

I work in research. We have busy times and slow times, right now we are in a slow time which I don't like all that much.

I love my job. I mean...it's still a job to me, and if I were a billionaire, I probably wouldn't be doing it---but as far as jobs go, I feel like I have the best job on the planet.
And that's a combination of what I do (school librarian), but also my particular job at my particular school. This is also the most pleasant school librarian job I've had (and this is my 3rd school to work at), because I have an awesome principal now who loves me and it's a small school, so frankly, I do less work than I used to. I went from a school with 1200 kids to a school with 400 kids and I really do 1/3 of the work.

I'm a teacher and I love what I do. Not to say I don't love my summers off, or my snow days (have one today actually!) but part of that is because it provides such great balance for me. I am also extremely passionate about teaching and truly love grtting up to go to work every day. By August I'm itching to get back into the classroom. I think as fun as maternity leave will be next year I will miss it a lot!

I love what I do, I just don't love where I'm at. I love being at a library, and I love the actual 'work' I do, but I really do not like the politics and laziness that surrounds me at my work place.

I'm liking it a lot less after coming back to work from having a baby...

Today I'm a 3, however most days I'm a 2. I have been exploring other options.

I'm a 3 to 4. I don't MIND what I'm doing but, if I could go back and do it all over again, I probably would've picked a different career/area...

i really like what i do and am really interested in it. But i also find it stressful because I am still learning and new to it. I hope that in a few years, I won't be nervous about so many aspects of it and I will feel more like I really know what i am doing. so i voted 4 because of the stress.

I'll vote a 4. I really like what I do, but my current workplace is almost unbearable at times. I also wish I had more flexible hours, but that's not terrible. I'm moving in June and starting a new job (same field) so hopefully it's better!

I voted 4 but some days I feel like a 3....I like my job and wouldn't want to be doing anyting else, however, I would like to get paid more!!!

I voted a 3, but it could be a 3/4. I like what I do (most days) and the flexibility and benefits are absolutely fantastic. But it's still a job, so there's that...lol

I voted a 3. I'm the opposite of most other commenters, I like my company but not what I do. It isn't related to my degree and is something I kind of fell into and causes me a lot of stress and doesn't fit my personality well.

I'm torn. I don't like the work that i'm doing, but I get paid well for my job. I love the flexibility of being able to run errands when I want to, have little work to do, etc. and I love my boss. I just don't know if I can do this for the next 30 years. I'm here because when my parents retire, i'm supposed to take over. The longer i'm here the less I want to do that.
I just don't have the money to go to school to do anything else, so I feel really stuck.

I voted 2. Most days, I'm not happy with my job. I'm seriously considering becoming a SAHM.

I love my job. It is my "realistic dream job" (my dream job would be being a famous singer haha). I am a graphic designer and in many ways my job is awesome! I get to create beautiful things.
The only really bad part of my job is dealing with clients which 90% of the time is hair pulling-ly stressful.

I really enjoy my actual job, but I commute at least 3 hours a day and that really detracts from the whole experience. If I could have a normal commute I'd be much happier.
apricot / 274 posts
I voted 4. I still love my job, but not nearly as much as I did before LO was born.

my job is my career and I love it. I went to school to do exactly what I want to do and my boss is super supportive of me so its a great environment.
