We get free food pretty often and quite a lot of days off. Also, we can wear jeans and t-shirts so I don't have to spend any money on a work wardrobe.

I get to wear jeans every day, we have candy dishes on our desk that are filled weekly (I had to put a note on mine to stop, though, because I was eating too much!), we have a fridge stocked with sodas, juice, sparkling water (all free), and a massage therapist comes to our office once a week to give massages (it costs $1/minute, but we don't have to clock out while we get one).
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@lawbee11: Oh, the massages sound nice! I guess I should count free drinks and frequent lunches!

lol...some of these perks sound so nice! But since I'm a public school librarian, the "perks" are more along the lines of....
-I can check out as many YA books as I want
-I have unlimited access to moody pre-teens- yay!
-I have unlimited boxes of the cheapest, scratchiest tissues
-I have an electric pencil sharpener
One REAL perk is I have unsupervised access to a laminator, laser color printer, and copy machine. Can't say I've *never* abused those privaleges for non-work related things.

We have a gym on-site and a pool table and pretty awesome bosses in general. They've been really flexible with my schedule being pregnant. We only have 12 employees but I still get a 12-week leave and half of it's paid. I'm very lucky!!

Zip
Well once a quarter they buy lunch for a couple days during close. But a lot of times it is unhealthy so I just don't participate. Now that I am pregnant, I can't turn down the free greasy pizza.

@lawbee11: That sounds awesome!
Um, outside of benefits? Jeans on Fridays? Reduced gym membership.

Discounted dry cleaning? Nobody complaining when I am on FB at work since I manage our company's FB page? I get to hang out with my husband and use a company iphone.
Oh, one perk is the freedom to set my own hours which will help with setting a schedule for Lo with her nanny.

@mrbee: lucky! I get to spend my whole day on HB too. The perks of being a SAHM.
blogger / pear / 1964 posts
@Anagram: haha. My librarian perks are similar, though no free tissues. I do have an office and a secretary. which is a perk in education.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
We get tickets to a Husker sporting events (usually once game a season) for free, as well as high end meat for Christmas.
persimmon / 1341 posts
Im a SAHM and my husband's company apparently doesn't believe in treating people like humans let alone giving any kind of perk. But, it's a great job and we're very fortunate for him to have it.

I'm at a small company - less than 20 employees. That is a perk in a way.
-I can wear jeans and tees to work.
-If I travel, I get a stipend for each day away (we use a credit card for expenses, the stipend is like a bonus to thank us for traveling).
-Unlimited internet access
-I was able to take 13 weeks off for my maternity leave and still accrue vacation time while I was out.

I work from home...expense my landline, internet, and I get a car. Post college my job felt like a 3rd parent with all the perks. I also get a cell phone, but the company now frowns upon excessive texting.

I work at a Park District so we get free/discounted entrance into all of our facilities (including swimming pools, golf courses, ice rink, gym, nature centers and a zoo), plus discounted fees for programs/day camps/sports leagues, etc. I also just learned about a week ago that being an employee of our Park District gets you free admission to a lot of the Chicago museums and zoos!

We get to wear jeans and tennis shoes to work every day as long as we're not dealing with a client.
They cater lunch for the whole company during the holidays.
We get discounted cell phone rate plans.

As long as I don't have a class or meeting I don't have to be there. So sick days have been a lot easier (I stay home till class and daddy is only off for a few hours).
For now health insurance is free (it will be going up just not sure how much).
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
We used to have quite a few. Free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and iced tea. The company had hockey, football and baseball season tickets that were drawn for (usually got to go to something for free), we had a pork roast party in the summer including paid time off, we got 2-3 paid days off at Christmas, we got Christmas presents every year. Then we got a new CEO and there were a lot of layoffs and all the perks disappeared.
grapefruit / 4235 posts
-company paid iphone
-lots of free lunches and cocktail hours (those are political fundraisers, not the most fun...)
-free weekend in Manhattan every December
-tons of free Hershey's chocolate, sodas, waters, k-cup coffees and teas, and "healthy snacks"
-once-monthly birthday treats
-really good about flex time and working remotely
-verizon wireless discount

I get to wear jeans whenever I want and they've been very flexible with my adjusted schedule. Some of the perks you guys get sound awesome!!!!

My work has some pretty great perks.
-All kinds of free snack food, plus free lunch every Thursday
-Water cooler with non-hospital water (you probably don't realize how huge this is, but it is!)
-Winter and summer party
-Discounts at local eateries, spas, movies, etc
-Student loan repayment
-large yearly contribution to our retirement accounts
-all kinds of continuing education
-occasional free tickets to University sporting events/lectures
Really I couldn't ask for a better work environment, and I say that in the midst of my high season!
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
OH I forgot, I do get a tiny budget for continuing ed. I should be grateful for that since I didn't have it at my last job!
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
Ooh and I forgot to mention that our kids get 50% off tuition at the University! That one is huge!
persimmon / 1026 posts
I work for a travel agency so they paid for my hotel room for both my honeymoon and 1st anniversary trip, plus I've gone to Mexico, St. Lucia, and Antigua several times for work trips.
grapefruit / 4235 posts
I forgot we have a 401k match and usually get a bonus 401k contribution as well. And they pay for our parking, basic disability insurance and a small life insurance policy.

Flexible Work Schedule (WFH 4 days a week)
Unlimited Soda, Tea (Tazo all flavors), Coffee
No dress code (Jeans and Sneakers)
Expense Home Internet Connection
Free entrance to Disney World/Land, 50% discount on rooms
Free monthly chair massages
Bunch of other discounts (35% at Disney Store, 20% Cellphone, etc.)
There's probably more that I am forgetting.
persimmon / 1194 posts
- company phone
- any phone accessories paid
- anything that can even remotely be used for work purposes my company reimburses you.
- work from home if necessary
- fun environment! We've had video game tournaments and table football tournaments!
pomelo / 5820 posts
I'm so jealous of some of the awesome perks you guys get!
My company doesn't offer many fun perks. I do have work from home access, which comes in handy when I'm not feeling well or have a mid-day appointment.
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
We have great benefits (health insurance, 401k, 12 weeks paid mat leave + 3 weeks paid vaca). But we don't have a lot in the way of perks. We do have free lunches in the office but those are paid for by wholesalers not the company and it's usually super unhealthy food anyway. We do get discounted commission on trades in our own accounts but if you ask me I shouldn't have to pay a commission at all since I'm the one entering the trades anyway!
