Absolutely - two acquaintances of mine and a close friend lost their babies after 24 weeks while I was pregnant. I didn't relax much throughout my whole pregnancy, to be honest. I don't really have any advice for you - but I can certainly commiserate.

Yes, I worried until the first trimester was over.... then I worried until she was "viable".... then I worried until she was out..... then I worried about cot death..... then I worried about her her development...... I worry about her injuring herself.... I worry about injuring myself and having to leave her..... I worry about her getting really sick and getting her heart broken, or getting into drugs. I worry that I'm a crap mum, that I give her too much sugar and all her teeth are going to rot. I worry that she's my world and if anything happened to her I don't know what I'd do. I worry..... because I love her.... because I'm a mum. Welcome to motherhood.

When I was pregnant, I wanted him out so I could see him and make sure he was fine. Then he was born and I wanted him back inside because I knew he had been safe there!

I worry, but try to let statistics comfort me. I think there's only a 1% chance of them dying in the womb after 20 weeks, so I try to let that comfort me.

I'm still paranoid though and do things not to jinx myself. When I gave birth to Xander, I refused to bring the car seat into the hospital until he was born, just in case I didn't have a baby to bring home...

It HAS happened to me (at 39 weeks) and I worried til the end with M. I also worry beyond pregnancy. D is 7 and I still worry about him.

@Adira: Yeah, I tried the statistics. My bff lost her baby at 10 weeks and was due around the same time as S. I thought "surely, we can't both lose our babies!" Ha. But, it worked with M. The chances of it happening twice are so low, I would be more apt to win the lottery.

You never stop worrying, even once baby arrives safely. It just goes with the territory of being a parent.

Yeah I worried the whole pregnancy, including up to when I was pushing. I only really felt relief when I held my daughter in my arms for the first time.

Now though I still routinely lay my hand on her belly to check that she's still breathing. I guess I'll never really stop worrying about her.

I just got used to worrying. Although I am that mom who brings her kid to the doctor for everything- the first month or two I swear we were there once a week, and we have probably gone once a month since then. I figure my deductible is paid so I'm taking advantage of it

But I know some people suffer from severe anxiety when pregnant or post pregnant anxiety. If you feel like it is more than the normal level of concern, talk to your doctor.

I definitely worry about that. Especially after losing my son, now I know of so many more things that can go wrong during pregnancy and after birth. I am going to be paranoid forever.

Agree with everyone that said the worry never goes away; it only adapts to whatever stage you are in.

I don’t know how many times I’ve heard people say how they thought they could stop worrying after 12 weeks; but personally, my worry went the other way. I was much more worried from viability until week 32+; since to me personally, it seemed like the stakes were so much higher at that point, even if the % of miscarriage risk was lower.

While I was pregnant (and now) I work at not letting the worry take over. Frankly, it’s out of your control and the added stress doesn’t help anyone. It was helpful, though also frustrating, to remind myself of that.

Yeah, I agree with @yoursilverlining:. I had a m/c at 9 weeks, so the next pregnancy, I was a mess. I felt a little better once I got past the first trimester, but then when I got past viability, I was terrified again. I felt like if I lost the baby at that point, it would be so much worse. I honestly didn't feel relief until I heard him cry. And then, new worries appeared. He's 10 months now and there's something new to worry about every day.

I tried to remind myself that worrying would not change the outcome and to try to live in the moment. So very hard, but it helped me be less anxious.

I allowed myself to worry until 24 weeks. That was my magic week when I knew s/he could survive. Honestly since 30 odd weeks I've been able to poke my bump and feel baby respond back so since then Ive been fine as should have a worry it takes about 10 seconds for me to get reassurance.

A friend of mine lost her baby 5 days before her due date, she hasn't felt baby move but didn't want to seem a pain to the doctors so she waited 24 hours...I will not wait longer than 10 minutes if I truly feel something's not right, I don't care who this annoys.

If you see my last post you'll see that I'm no stranger to worry. And it happens with my son as well. I'm not excessive but I'm probably a bit over the norm. What helps me is to ask myself how much I can do about the current situation if anything. Then I do what I can and the rest I have to try to let go and let god as some say. I'm not religious but I'm spiritual so god might be god, the universe or a hunk of cheese but in the end it's about accepting what I can't change and trying to have faith and enjoy the moment. Big hugs to you. It's not easy being a neurotic about these things.

I worry slightly daily!!! I think it is just that mothers worry! What makes me feel better is talking to her and when she is kicking I just take in every kick and thank God!!!
