I've seen a few specks (like tip of an ink pen sized specks) of red and brown when wiping today. Minimal cramping (more like minor twinges).
I'm worried that if I were to call and go in for a u/s, they wouldn't see much as I'm 5w4 or 5w5d.
What would you do?

I had spotting around six weeks - as long as it's not bright red, I probably wouldn't worry.

@HLK208: some of it is red but it's so tiny and literally like 2 specks, like I've taken a red pen and tapped it on the tp lol

Are you RH-Negative at all? If you are, I'd call because they'd want to give you rhogam. But otherwise, I agree, they probably wouldn't be able to see anything or do anything at this point.
But I don't think you have to be worried! Spotting is really common, especially this early in the pregnancy. It sounds like it's very light, so I think you're okay. HUGS!

@Adira: no, RH-Positive. Should I try to go in Thursday, I think I'd be 6w. With my first we saw the HB at 6w3d

I honestly wouldn't call about that, but I have had 4 pregnancies, 2 that were miscarriages, and always bleed. It would take a lot more than that to get me to call.
ETA: any blood is always alarming, but that doesn't sound like something concerning, and as early as you are, it will probably cause more worry to try to get a scan

I had spotting with my first pregnancy at that time. Healthy baby! ( I also had a friend who soaked through two pairs of underwear at just over 5 weeks and was sure she miscarried - nope! Healthy baby 9 months later. 
)

@Applesandbananas: You could try, but I'd be afraid of trying to see something at 6w just in case you don't! That would make me even more paranoid!! I think I'd try to just hold off for now (unless anything changes with the spotting).

Also to comment, my 2 losses I had no bleeding, and the one that I did have a TON of bleeding (filling a pad an hour with bright red, heading to ER), was actually my successful pregnancy.

Same thing here. Went in for an ultrasound, was told that I was 6w1d, but that the heart rate was slow, and my chance of miscarriage was 50%. Baby is now 6 months old.

I wouldn't call unless it gets heavier or you start getting period like cramps with the spotting.

Thanks everyone! I haven't seen anymore and I haven't had any additional cramping aside from the very slight twinges I've had for several days.

Like everyone else said, sounds normal. But I also wanted to add that cramping is normal- even more than just mild. I woke up around 5-6 weeks sure I was miscarry info because I was having such bad cramps, but nope, normal, had a baby nine months later. So just in case the cramping gets worse, it's ok.

I wouldn't call the doctor, but I would go to an urgent care facility to get a beta blood test. Then when you see the doctor in a few weeks you can compare the numbers for peace of mind.
