I would be furious!!!!! I learned this from a friend's experience actually. One of her friends made the announcement on FB when she had her baby, without permission, and we were all horrified. Even my mom called me and said that was rude! So when I told my friends I was pregnant , I asked to keep it off FB before I announced. They all did!!

If it's that big of a potential problem for you, you can always restrict wall and tagging access until you are ready for the announcement.
