My mom asked me this last night... 3 kids is my max. It will be 3 girls or 2 girls and a boy!

Nah. I'd love to have a girl but if I ended up with all boys I would be happy.

Definitely not! 3 is my max, though I am leaning towards 2...so even if we have another girl next, we'll probably be done.
coconut / 8681 posts
Definitely not. We've always wanted 4 and if we'd ended up having all boys that's what we'd have!

Nope. I think there are benefits both ways. While I think it would be cool to get to experience both a daughter and a son, it also seems more common for siblings to be closer friends if they are the same gender. So either way is cool with me. And my husband has never been the "I must have a son" type.

I think 3 would have been our max, but if we had 3 girls, I'm pretty sure my hubby would want to keep going until there was a boy. He's like the last of his male line and I think he would want to continue it.

Nope. I'm not even sure about LO#3 (which dh wants), even if LO#2 is a boy!

@mrsjyw: I wanna see 4-5 more of your cuties!

Nope! 2 and we are done. But we both are good with two girls.
honeydew / 7667 posts
Nope. Someone around here was just in the paper because they are on child 12 or 13 and all of them are boys and they just keep trying because they want a girl.
pomegranate / 3565 posts
Up until 3 kids. That's my max. I have one boy and I'm pregnant with a 2nd boy. We'll try one more time, but if it's another boy we're still done.
But we always thought we wanted 3 kids anyway - no matter the sex.
honeydew / 7230 posts
Nope, we'd be done at 2 regardless of gender. I would have a been a tiny bit disappointed if we never had a girl though!

We are pretty sure we just want 2, but who knows what the future will bring! Our # won't be determined by gender though, we are just grateful for the ability to have LO's.
My grandma wanted a girl SO bad. She had 3 boys before she had my mom and said she would have stopped at 5 if she didn't get her girl bc she didn't want 'half a dozen' kids

I think right now 3 is my max as well. I really want a boy because there hasn't been a boy yet in DH's family and we're the last to have kids! So I have some self inflicted pressure to carry on the name!
nectarine / 2932 posts
Honestly, possibly! I really want a girl, and my husband really wants a boy. We'd like 3 or 4 to begin with...so I could definitely see us keep on keepin' on. Now, if that'll actually happen or not remains to be seen. We may change our minds considering we're pregnant with our first!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
No, i think it's dangerous to keep having kids with the hope of the next one being the token gender you want.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
No, 3 is our absolute max, however I'm good at 2. We are deciding after the next one if we are done or not.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
My aunt and uncle did this. They had 13 (THIRTEEN!!!) girls before they had a boy.
pomelo / 5469 posts
@locavore_mama: us too. MIL has 3 granddaughters already!
Although I originally said I wouldn't do this...I wonder if I'd feel different if our first LO wasn't a girl. I knew I always wanted a girl, so even after 2-3 boys, I might be tempted to keep trying for a girl!
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
I don't think so but we'll see when the time comes. We think about adopting a third child later on so if the first two are the same gender, we would probably try to adopt the opposite gender for the third instead of rolling the dice on another pregnancy.

@septca:
@illumina: even all his cousins have girls!!!
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
No..I actually always wanted to have 2 of the same gender...I find same sex siblings share a special bond! Since I had a girl for LO#1 I hope LO2 is a girl also so C has a sister. Dh would love a boy though so we can't lose
papaya / 10473 posts
No way. I am team one and done, but DH hated being an only child so.... we'll see.
pomegranate / 3759 posts
After just having our second daughter, DH and I are considering trying again. I always wanted more than 2 but DH said we are done at 2. Until our second girl showed up lol
coconut / 8861 posts
Nope, I'm two and through. I'd love a girl, but would be totally alright with another boy. My brother and SIL tried for a girl and got one after having twin boys. They're done now.
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
dh and I have always each said we only want 2, but I wonder if he'll want to try for a third if our 2nd is a girl (pregnant with our first, a girl, now). he says he won't, but we'll see!

Nope, 3 is our max too. I'm totally fine with all 3 boys, but would love a little princess for my husband.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
Definitely not. Pregnancy is just not my cup of tea. I think we'll be happily done with two or three and if they are all boys -- that would be fantastic! I enjoy our DS so much and actually have a hard time picturing myself as a mama to a girl!
honeydew / 7917 posts
My parents kept trying for a boy and ended up with 5 girls. 2 is my max, and I'm happy with my two boys.

We want a big family but aren't set on a number yet other than 4+. I'd like to have at least one of each...if I already had say 6 boys, I'd probably keep going. They say it's easier at that point anyways lol.
