I've always wanted to do a vow renewal because weddings these days are so different than when I got married 6 1/2 years ago. Our 10 year anniversary in March 2015 would be a perfect time. Charlie would be 5 and could be our ring bearer, and Olive would be 3 and she could be our flowergirl.
I know I could throw an awesome party the second time around since I've spent so much time in the wedding world. 
Would you ever consider doing a vow renewal?

I don't think so. Our wedding was so wonderful, I think I'd like to just live with the memory of it. This coming from someone who is just a week away from 1 year anniversary, but I really still do love our wedding. I would hate to ruin it with a vowel renewal that wasn't just as awesome.

i don't think so either. my husband and i have been married over 6 years as well, but we're not really big on weddings so rather not go through all that again. maybe for our 50th anniversary. lol.

I would love to do a vow renewal! I loved my wedding, but there are so many things I would do differently, esp if I had an unlimited budget - I work as a wedding coordinator part-time and seeing all those cute details always make me want to get married all over again!

I think about this and do love the idea of having a vow renewal later on in the marriage (aka 20 year anniversary), but if we were to do one I would want it to be intimate and maybe in a fun location. The funny thing is we were just talking about this the other day because my husband thought he lost his ring--we found the ring quickly and after the panic he said how he was already planning that he would have to buy a new ring and plan a vow renewal. So, if my husband loses his ring anytime soon I imagine he would want to do one lol.

For some reason I've always thought it would be fun to be married by an Elvis impersonator in Las Vegas. Maybe for our 10 year anniversary.

PBand Baseball - Thank you! I totally agree and Hubs thinks I'm silly. We spent a three day weekend in Reno and every time I saw a wedding chapel, I would think about it.

Oh yes! DH told me we could do one every single year if I wanted to, but I'm thinking 5th, 10th, 25th, and 50th. Yes, that's a lot. I love weddings!
But we probably won't invite people to all of those - we'll have a ceremony on vacation in Morocco or Paris all by ourselves, with a beautiful dress, our children, and personal vows. No guests, no gifts, no hoopla.

Technically, my wedding was a vow renewal, now that I think of it. We were married by the JOP (my dad) in February to facilitate my move abroad and we had our ceremony with a Lutheran minister in August.

heck yes! I cant wait to wear another wedding dress! But it will be smaller than our original wedding, but still a party. I still wouildnt change a thing about our wedding, I wanna do it all over again!

In a way, I'd like to do a vow renewal, because our wedding was so small and we didn't invite everyone we would've liked to. But I also think I might feel too guilty doing that - inviting people to the vow renewal who I didn't invite to the actual wedding... so I think I probably wouldn't.

My answer up til this year would have been no, but now I think I'd love to do it for our 10 year. I'd love to celebrate with our closest friends and family in a tropical locale, and of course have our kids there too. It would probably be VERY casual and just eating and partying for an entire weekend. I mostly want to do it because when we got married, we were so young and Rob Sr. was so overwhelmed that our vows were kind of robotic. I'd love to say the same words to each other after 10 years of marriage and we actually understand what they mean... because we've lived them!

We've already talked about doing it for our 10 year anniversary. We'd like to do it on the beach (preferably Hawaii), something low-key, and intimate. Maybe with our kids or maybe just us.

I think maybe for like a 25th anniversary or something like that, something long in the future, when our kids are almost grown, would be the most meaningful.

I don't know that I would do an actual vow renewal, as in standing in front of people saying vows in some sort of ceremony. I don't really think vows need renewed! But I am all for a kick ass anniversary party! We had a more rustic wedding, so I think throwing ourselves a swanky anniversary party and really treating all our friends would be awesome!

I love how Heidi Klum and Seal do it every year on their anniversary. I would like to do it every so often, but it would be a really small thing...maybe just the two of us.
