Yep, total freak out. My brother has twins and whoa, so much work. I know someone from high school who tried for her second child and got surprise twins.

I would definitely freak out and wonder where the other one had been hiding in the ultrasounds! I wanted twins but was glad to just see one in the scan.
nectarine / 2973 posts
I would cry! I already have a 6 month old and we aren't planning on having another for 3ish more years. I mean, we would have to get a bigger place to live(5 people in a two bedroom condo!) a bigger car(no way three carseats would fit in our car) I'm getting stressed out just thinking about it!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
I would be very confused since yesterday I had an egg retrieval and I wasn't pregnant then.
Ask me in two weeks and I will say I'm pleased!
nectarine / 2063 posts
Currently pregnant with twins & loving it! I might be a little freaked out if we had another batch of twins after these two lol
Eta: it would be okay though.
blogger / pear / 1563 posts
I'd be nervous and scared but 99% thrilled. Since we've never conceived it would be such a miraculous blessing!

I would FLIP OUT, in a bad way. Sorry, just being honest.
Were going through a difficult period with LO right now with crap sleep, fussing, a cold, a trip, and we have no time to ourselves. Two more los and I would be completely miserable. If I didn't already have one, or if my one was older, my answer would probably be different. I may even be excited after the flip out. But right now? Heck no.
pomegranate / 3577 posts
I would flip only because I would be worried about getting pregnant so soon after a c-section! It would be wild around here!
nectarine / 2527 posts
I would love that I was hoping for twins but I'm happy and ready to meet my one

Considering I have almost 8-month-old twins right now, I would freak the F out! But, I also freaked out when I found out I was pregnant with the twins I have.
grapefruit / 4823 posts
Absolutely! I'm 4 weeks pp today, so it would be immaculate conception and I'd cry! A lot!
When my mom was pregnant with me, they told her she was having twins. She said she cried all the way home from the doctors haha After an u/s they confirmed just me was in there
clementine / 943 posts
I would be ok with it. I haven't have an US with this pregnancy yet, but if there were two in there it would be ok with me. I have a 12 month old already, so it would be WORK, but it would make my decision about whether or not to quit my job when this baby comes a lot easier (I would have to quit- no way could I handle putting three kids in the care if my MIL, I have anxiety enough when she watches LO one day a week!)
honeydew / 7909 posts
I'd be excited but I'd be wondering where the other has been hiding on all the u/s I've had lately!!
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
Yes, but only because we've had two ultrasounds and there was only one in there so it would certainly freak me out if there all of the sudden were two!!
nectarine / 2765 posts
Since I got this news almost 7 months ago, it didn't freak me out, in fact, we were absolutely thrilled. Now that I've experienced a twin pregnancy thus far, I honestly would probably freak a lil if it happened a second time...four kiddos would be a little much.
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
There would definitely be hyterical laughter. I'm 41 weeks today and going in for an ultrasound to check on this overdue baby. If there's more than one in there, I would die of shock.
papaya / 10343 posts
Ummmm YES. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around 1 baby, let alone 2! lol. But I think I'd get over it pretty quick and it would probably be fine.
clementine / 984 posts
I would have a moment or two of panic, but total excitement. If we have twins, I want them during the 1st pregnancy, not any later pregnancies.
We thought that we may have twins in there, but DH asked me to please refrain from using "the T-word" until we get our ultrasound so he didn't get unnecessarily excited/nervous. We only saw one at 9 weeks, but I want to take a LONG look on week 21 to make sure. Haha.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@Grace: haha oh man, good luck today! I hope you have a baby by the weekend!!
watermelon / 14206 posts
Yep. I'd flip. I'd be so scared to tell DH, cause he would have a heart attack.
Saying this...I'm not supposed to be talking about multiples until after my ultrasound on the 13th lol. DH can't wrap his head around it, lol.

I would have a mega-freak out. We're transitioning back to career mode and this would definitely not be in the plan. I'm sure we would be fine... but holy crap... 4 kids with two of them at age 42. Crazy!
watermelon / 14206 posts
@indi: Haha, my DH said the same exact thing! We don't get our first ultrasound until the 13th, lol
pomegranate / 3113 posts
Yep. There has only been one on the ultrasounds so far, so I'd wonder where the second came from -- changeling? Alien baby?
pear / 1799 posts
@bluestriped bee: Yes, but only because I'm 21 weeks pregnant, and all u/s until now have shown 1 baby!
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
Freak out, get so excited, freak out, get so excited... rinse and repeat.
GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts
I would kind of be excited I have always wanted twins. Buuuuut it looks like there's only one baby in my belly.
@Mrs. Train: LOL
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
@indi: My oldest brothers are twins and my mom always said she was glad they came first and that after the two of them having single pregnancies/newborns was a breeze.
It's funny, though, because before I got pregnant with E/before our first U/S with him DH was wishing we could have twins (this was before he decided one was enough, obviously). He was really hopeful because I have twin brothers, but they're identical so it doesn't have a bearing...
honeydew / 7230 posts
I would be ecstatic - we transferred two embryos a few days ago, so I'm hoping we might actually get this news in the next few weeks!
pear / 1556 posts
I would be really excited! I would be nervous about the pregnancy, but definitely happy and excited.
papaya / 10570 posts
I would be HORRIFIED! My baby is only 5 weeks old for one - and this shiz is seriously hard! I don't know how twin mamas cope, I really don't!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@Shutterbug: @twodoghouse: IF you do end up with twins, I promise it will be the best thing that has ever happened to you!! It's SO much fun.
If I found out today I were having twins . . . I would be a little overwhelmed at the idea of having 4 kids under 15 months, but now that we know it's doable, I think we'd mostly be excited!
The first time I found out, though . . . yeah, I cried for a while. But, I couldn't be toooo freaked out about another set of these dudes!
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
@Mrs. Blue: I don't know how you can handle double the cuteness.
I would be thrilled if I found out we were having twins! It's be a crazy blessing for sure. (even though the baby factory is closed)
eggplant / 11287 posts
I would be so happy!
Every single time I go in for a ultrasound, I kind of hope they will tell me "Surprise! There's two in there!"
at my last appointment, I kind of wanted them to say twins just so I had an excuse for how much weight i'd gained...
pineapple / 12234 posts
@Rainbow Sprinkles: same!!
I would be so excited!! To think of my family going from 4 to 6 would be crazy but fun!
