It's hard to say for sure as everyone's pregnancy is very different.

I'm 37 weeks at the moment and would have no problem going to a wedding (other than finding something to wear!). I've had an easy pregnancy so far (*knock on wood*) and little to no discomfort, but I can understand that if someone was really uncomfortable and swollen they might not want to go.

I think it would be nice to have the social interaction though. I'm definitely trying to get in as much time with friends as I can over the next few weeks!

As long as I had no complications, I would go. I wanted to get out and do as much as I could because 1. I knew I would have a baby soon and wouldn't be able to do that kind of thing for much longer and 2. I knew getting out and moving around would help get the baby out

Yup! I went to a wedding at 36 wks and one at 37wks, and at both, I was on the dance floor having a good time (I got some worried looks though--I think people thought my water was going to break on the dance floor!). I would just make sure you can leave whenever you start to feel uncomfortable, and of course it depends on how your pregnancy goes...Like @ninja: I had a really easy pregnancy.

I went to a wedding at 39w but only stayed for the ceremony and cocktail hour. I wasn't sure how I'd feel so opted to skip dins just in case, it worked out!

I wanted to go to a conference for work that was about 90 minutes away when I was 37 weeks. My doctor said she didn't want me going anywhere more than an hour away. (Granted, that was overnight, but also in a bigger city with MORE hospitals!) Consider how you would feel about delivering in the hospital near the wedding: yes, it's the same system, but you would be 2 hours away from home and the have to take the baby home 2 hours on the first car ride. I would have been up for a local wedding at 37 weeks, but probably not one that was a couple hours away.

I would go and enjoy! DH and I took a 2 hour road trip when I was 36 weeks. We stopped halfway to get out and stretch our legs.

Nope - but at 37 weeks, I was having a ton of BHs and ridonc swelling. So that's just me!

I wouldn't. I stayed close to home my last month of pregnancy . Can't imagine having to find a dress to wear at 37 weeks either..

I was HATEFUL at 37 weeks and didn't want to be around anybody. Now at 39 weeks I feel better. Tough to say ...

I would regretfully decline. A few hours drive, all day, in the forest, yeh ... I would've avoided that like the plague!

I went to a wedding at 38 weeks last summer. When I RSVP'd the bride was well aware we might not make it.

Notes:
~ This was my second pregnancy. I was a little more comfortable making the decision since I'd been there - done that.
~ It was a 7 hr drive. I fessed up to my midwives that I would be going against their 'direction' (not traveling within 4 weeks) and her response was to make sure we stopped every 2 hrs to walk around to prevent blood clots.
~ I will admit the word 'blood clot' scared me a bit (we've had two local women suffer from these during prenancy recently) so I wore compression socks during the and we stopped at least twice during the drive for me to pee and walk.
~ We did not take my son. Gramie came to town to watch him! If I did go into labor we didn't want to deal with him as well

Folks thought I was crazy - but it was all fine. I delivered 3 days late. I will say my labor was about 3 hrs from the first contraction to the final push - so this little lady would have been a Georgia Peach had I gone into labor at the wedding. I wouldn't have made it back to VA like I thought!

(With my first labor I had REALLY minor contractions early on to signal labor. None of that the second time!)

I was in a wedding at 39 weeks. Other than being a little uncomfortable standing during the ceremony and being tired at the end of the evening it was great time!!! I was SO ready to have the baby by that point...so, the wedding was a nice distraction.

I've got one tomorrow (at 36 weeks!) but it's only an hour away.. so I'm not that worried.

If it was local, obviously yes. However, I wouldn't have felt comfortable traveling to a wedding. I had to miss a friend's wedding for that reason. Then again, I was having contractions at 37 weeks and my blood pressure was high so I was a little more high risk. Of course, I ended up having to be induced. . .
