Only scenario I can think of would be when one of my coworkers is pregnant. I have attended both the normal baby shower and the work baby shower in that situation. I only brought a gift to the social outside of work shower. I don't think I would attend two normal baby showers for the same person though, that seems odd there would be overlapping invitation lists.

Hmmm.. Bestie? Yes. "Normal Friend"? Probably not. And I probably wouldn't go to one and not bring a gift, so I would just make an excuse, or have a reason to only go to one.

Depends how close you are to the friend. A bunch of us threw a shower for my good friend and all chipped in for a group gift. Her family also threw her a shower and I was invited to that one too. I brought a gift to the family shower as well. Maybe if you go to both, you could buy two smaller gifts to take to each that would equal the amount you planned to spend total?

I attended two showers for SIL. I hosted one of the showers so it was nice to get to be a guest at the other and mingle with her family. Typically I wouldn't attend multiple showers unless I was really close to the guest of honor and she wanted me there specifically (like as a buffer at an in-law shower).

Because of my parents' oh-so-not-wonderful divorce I had two baby showers for my last pregnancy. My stepmom threw one and my mom threw the other. I did have a few very close friends I invited to both but for the most part they had different guest lists. For those that attended both, they did bring gifts to both (though that wasn't expected) and I know that they split up their gifts and gave some at one shower and some at the other. Personally, if I was invited to two and was going to both, I'd probably do the same thing - purchase two smaller items to present one at both showers.

My bff or SIL or wife of a close friend of my husband's (co-ed shower & an all ladies one) yes! I'd bring a gift both times. Probably one shower gift would be only a basket of books though.

For a close friend or relative, yes I would go to both. I would buy a small gift, like an outfit or a couple of books for one of the showers and do a bigger gift for the other.

Best friend, yes. anyone else, no.
And I'd gift something small the second shower- a gift card or clothes.

Only one of my two closest friends or sister or SIL. Besides that.... Nope but I'm not a big shower fan. Especially during football season.

No. I'd pick the one that was more convenient or had more guests I know.

For a close friend or family member I probably would, maybe picking something off the registry for one and choosing an outfit for the other. I love showers!

I would find it really odd to be invited to more than one shower for anybody except for maybe a sibling.

i would go to both if able, but only one gift or two small gifts. i wouldn't spend more on the same person just because there was multiple events.

It would depend who it was I guess. A very close friend or family member, probably yes. Anyone else I would just go to one.
I would try not to put any guests in the situation.
