I would rather diet (not that I do...). I haaate exercising.
Plus, I already eat, so I don't have to find additional time to eat better things. I'd have to find time to exercise! (I should though, I know...)

Diet. But exercise gives me migraines, so I don't really have much of a choice.

to exercise enough to lose any significant amount of weight without changing your diet is hard, as much as i hate to diet, it is a far more efficient way to lose weight. i vote diet!

Exercise, by far....I love food! And I love the thought of "fueling" for my workouts..ha!

Exercise! I love food and restricting myself usually doesn't work well for me, so I eat reasonably and go to the gym.

Exercise. I have no willpower. Luckily, I eat fairly healthy. However, when I want something, I want it. Telling myself I can't have it only makes me want it more.

I'd rather be naturally skinny
I think I'd rather exercise. I lost 30lbs pre-pregnancy with portion control and exercise, but I'm better at keeping up with the latter.

neither! haha...i love my food too much and i have a hard time finding motivation to work out. BUT if i had to choose, i think its much easier to lose weight by watching calories/portion control than to find time to run for an hour

exercise makes me feel so good!! dieting makes me feel like crap! definitely exercise!

like most folks and you, i definitely prefer exercise! not that i'm exercising. this is just hypothetical, right?

diet! and it's what my body responds well to as well!
i'm doing both now tho

Exercise for sure! but for me, losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise unfortunately, i can work out until the cows come home, if i don't change my eating i won't lose a pound ugh!

I think doing only one or the other is a bad weight loss plan, and I kind of suck at both. If I wanted to drop weight fast- diet. If I wanted to be healthier, exercise. I eat pretty healthy, I just eat too much sometimes.
If we are granting wishes I'd rather be naturally skinny and enjoy exercise so it was fun to go out and run or whatever.

It's easiest for me to do both....and I've tried the either-or methods. No matter what, you have to not eat or burn 3500 calories to make a pound of fat lost. So that means either 500 calories a day/7 days a week of exercise or dieting to lose only 1 lb a week. 2 lbs a week means having to burn 1000 calories a day, which is almost impossible for me to do by just purely dieting or purely exercising either way.
I much prefer doing half and half. Cutting calories and exercising to be able to eat more calories.

Exercise, but they go hand in hand for me. You can't out exercise a bad diet! Exercise is more about feeling good and being strong, though

Oh exercise for sure! I love working out and love how my body looks when I'm working out regularly. And I actually don't really believe in dieting anyway - I believe in everything in moderation and making sensible choices.
I've been fortunate enough to never have been in a position where I've had to lose weight (other than post-baby but that all came off on its own anyway) but I can say with certainty that I would be an utter failure at dieting - aside from the fact that it would make me grumpy, whereas working out releases all those feel good endorphins and is so much fun!

Exercise. I love working out and hate dieting. But alas, my weightloss is like 90% diet and 10% exercise.
pear / 1799 posts
@coacheswife123: I've tried both time after time ... Finally, I made a big lifestyle change with my diet (I'm not considering it a diet), AND started 5K Runner. It's hard ... I miss cheese & bread. But, I'm feeling so much better.

Diet for sure. I never seem to be able to convince myself to go to the gym regularly. I like classes, but it's a huge time/money commitment, so.... calorie counting!

I'd prefer magic! Otherwise I guess exercise? Though I'm pretty lazy. I just like my food too much and indulge in the wrong things.
persimmon / 1035 posts
definitely exercise!! although i have found that between dieting-no exercise versus exercise-no dieting, the first one works better. sigh.
