It is currently in the low to mid 40's in NY. I'm getting a little stir crazy and it would be nice to take a walk but I'm a bit scared to expose the baby to the cold even though I would bundle her up a lot. Is it too early?

How old is your LO? I would also go, I was born close to the arctic circle in December and I was just fine! Just dress her up well and keep out of the wind.

I would go - I think she'd be fine bundled up. It's good to get out!

Definitely go! I thought you were going to say it was negative something out, 40's is almost balmy!

Go! I would probably baby wear though if you can... That way your body will help keep her warm and comfortable.

@MamaMoose: hmmm does that go over or under my coat? I probably can't wear my puffy coat.

@Andrea: I would probably put her under your coat if you have a big enough one.

@MamaMoose: I have a maternity wrap that should do. Will experiment!

depends on how cold. if above 15 degrees or so, I don't see why not. it's like 10 below here now so probably not - esp with the colder windchill, dont think i could bundle a kid in enough blankets.

@MamaMoose: lame. I went for 20 min and have cramps again. Guess it is back to confinement. So bored!!!

I took LO out in her stroller on a cold day, put her in a onesie, then a sleeper, and wrapped a blanket around her, plus draped her carseat canopy over everything.
When I wore her one night when it was around 40, I had her in a onesie, sleeper, and swaddled her, then slipped her into her carrier. She had on two hats too. I was able to zip my jacket around our lower half and just wrapped a scarf around us at the top. She almost felt too warm once we were home again.

@Andrea: oh boo! I know the feeling of being mentally ready to get back to normal life but your body is just not cooperating! Don't push too hard, you'll get there!

Depends if there is wind or not. When windy and cold here, no. But this morning it was snowy and we ran to store with no wind (not literally run :-)) and it was beautiful.

@MamaMoose: yeah, guess I'll just sit here and browse HB.

I took LO out yesterday (she's 5days old) in Toronto. She was well bundled and it went well. We were out for maybe 30 mins to Starbucks and a lap around the park. She did great, but I'm a little sore now

Not too cold at all! If it's ok for you, I think it's okay for her. Bundle her up good and enjoy a nice brisk walk!!
Oh...I just read. on the cramps. I'm sorry you're still not up to walking, @andrea.

It was about 20 degrees here this morning and we had plans to go to the farmers market but stayed home because I thought it was too cold. But we live in AZ so I don't really have proper winter clothes for me or LO.
