We booked a cruise for when our daughter turns ten months, but now I"m reconsidering it after I saw a 8.5 month old baby army crawling EVERYWHERE in a room. Has anyone traveled with a 10 month old and would you recommend it, or am I better off when she's walking? I would imagine I would have to carry her everywhere or stroller her everywhere, but maybe she wouldn't WANT to be carried all day.....

As someone who has travelled a TON with the very beginning with a now 19 month old, I'd strongly advise you to go before she's (more) mobile. Flights in particular get much trickier once a child wants to be up and about on her own. With a walker on a cruise you also I would need to be extra vigilant around all the pools, stairs, railings, etc.

We went on a long weekend away when DD was 10 months. She was so good! Held her in the ergo a lot, but other than that she did great.

Traveling is trickier once they are truly mobile just like @PinkElephant said. I just travelled with my son who was 14 months at the time. Although he did well, he wanted to get down and move it.

Yeah, I agree with pp who said travel only gets trickier once they can walk. Does your LO like being worn/carried? At 10 months my LO was perfectly content to be worn all day long; but she's got a snuggly type personality.

I agree they are easier before they walk. But fair warning, my LO was running before she turned 11 months.....

I think it depends. Traveling is definitely easier before they are mobile. However, we went to Hawaii with DS two weeks before he turned 1. He had taken a few steps before the trip but refused to walk. He started walking for real about a week after we returned and I think the trip would have been more fun for him if he could have walked at the beach/pool/other places.

We traveled with a crawling baby and toddler over Christmas.
If you have a problem with your LO crawling on the floor of your hotel room, I wouldn't do it.I didn't care and DS had fun roaming around our suite.
We had a great time!

I wouldn't like for my LO to be crawling across a cruise ship. Maybe it depends on the baby, but mine is always on the move and wouldn't enjoy being in the stroller or ergo all day. I'm probably in the minority, but I would wait until LO could walk (though I say that as someone whose baby doesn't walk yet!).

we went to Toronto when DS was 13 months old, and he was unsteadily walking in the hotel room and busted his forehead open on the corner of the night stand...at that moment I wished he wasn't walking....

We went to SF for a week when LO was crawling. It kind of grossed me out that she was crawling all over the hotel room floor but I just was vigilant about washing her hands and not letting her out her head down on the floor. We also had her cruising a lot which she kind of preferred anyway. I think it is much preferable to travel earlier rather than later. At least for my LO the older she has gotten the less she has wanted to be carried or strollered.

I agree with @chopsuey! Our ten month old loves to crawl and cruise. There's no way I could keep him off the floor for days at a time. You should totally take keep the trip only if you are comfortable with LO doing that in your cabin or different areas of the ship.
Personally, I would do it for a few days! How long is the cruise?

I would have had a harder time at this age, once my daughter could walk, I could let her walk around. At this age, she just wanted to army crawl around every second and was furious when she couldn't. Our life got much easier when she started walking.

@queensbee it's 8 days. My inlaws were supposed to come too and help but my FIL got a call to work. My MIL was just going to come on her own, which I was thankful for the help, but it was just as expensive for just one person ski don't know if she will. The plus side is that we booked this cruise so we wouldn't have to deal with any plane rides
