You guys....EW!
So I was cutting up a pepper for a recipe for dinner, and inside there was a bug! Like a creepy crawly thing, with pincers.
(FB and IG friends will be treated to the sight.)
There were 2 peppers to this package. (Organic in a cellophane type bag.) Should I attempt to use the other pepper, or just NOPE and throw it away?! Blech, I can't even think about food now....

I would have used the other pepper, for sure. That's expensive produce you have right there.

@looch: You're not kidding. 5.10chf for 2 stinking peppers. About 5.63 US dollars! UGH.

... I would have used the original pepper! Assuming it was going to be cooked.
Bugs crawl on fruits and veggies all the time while they're growing. I would have just washed it and cooked it, and no problemo

@Mamaof2: You want to hear the really crappy part, before I discovered the bug, I ate a piece already! It didn't look bad though, I didn't notice all the black spots (and bug) til I cut it in half.

@swurlygurl: it had what looked like rotten spots in it. I had already decided not to use it when I discovered my "friend." I've definitely used lettuce that had a slug and little flies on it before. But this thing...yick.

I would not have used the original pepper if there were bad spots on it. But if it was just a bug I'd just wash it well and still use it. I mean... produce grows outside and bugs crawl on it all the time! I always heard that you shouldn't eat a pretty apple. If a bug knows not to eat it, why would you want to eat it?

I would have tossed that one and then carefully cut open the 2nd praying there wasn't a bug!!

I would definitely try and use the other pepper, but that's just me!

So...I cut open the other pepper. It was spotless and bug free! Dinner is saved! lol

I would also have used the original one if there were not bad spots on it! Would have given it a thorough wash though!

Ewwww...I hate pincher bugs! I would have probably returned it to the store.
