I bought this French Connection bandage dress (a deal on ebay!) for my husband's reunion this weekend in Conneticut. It's 40s at night. I am fair/no tan. I am going to wear a pair of black suede rounded toe super high platform stilettos, and either a coat or I have several pashminas I can bring. But what about my pale legs? Do I wear hose?
We lived in FL for 3 years with no winter and I haven't dealt with this in SO LONG!

I would never wear pantyhose in any situation, hate hate hate them! But wow, what a dress. You'll post a pic of you in it, right?

I'm a SoCal girl, so pantyhose is pretty foreign to me too. If I do, it's usually black tights or something. It's probably normal (and needed) where you are now!

I am pale as anything no matter the time of year and never wear hose. They are just not that comfortable! Personally, I don't think pale legs are a reason to cover up.

Nope. I only wear pantyhose when going to court or on a job interview!
But I do wear opaque black tights very often with dresses to work.

If I were you I would wear panty hose and a jacket. You will be freezing in CT since you're used to FL temps in that.
I like hose for certain situations bc I think it's classier.

Is the party indoors? I wouldn't wear panty hose.
Just wear a coat and check it at the door!

I'm in CT and don't ever wear pantyhose no matter how cold! I find it just looks odd with my pale legs. Plus with that style dress I'd be afraid of "lines" showing from the hose. I would wear a jacket though if you can....it's chilly out!! Have fun, I'm sure you'll look gorg!

But I don't think I'd wear them with this dress. Put on some shine/bronzer & wear a long coat.
I'm in Boston & think about this every New Years Eve, still haven't worn stockings.

@petunia354: We will be in new London- quick weather question- is it cold enough for Uggs? I love mine and was thinking of getting some on zappos overnighted for LO...But I wasn't sure if the daytime weather constituted Uggs, and she's asleep by 7 so not out at night:)

I never wear panty hose. They can die off for all I care. I don't see the point in them anyway. Odd colored legs that you can tell are obviously hosed are worse than pale legs I think. Lol

I wear hose to work . . . most people think I just have nice(ish) legs (they look really natural). I don't think I would wear them with this dress though . . . if anything, I would wear opaque tights.

I would wear them, but not in a shade that would tan your legs too much. I always wear them to formal-ish events. I like the way they smooth everthing out and they make shoes more comfortable.

I would skip the panty hose. You will probably only be outside between the car and the event so I wouldn't worry too much about the cold. I don't think anyone will care if your legs or tan or not, but maybe that's just because I'm pale and proud!

I would wear hose to stay warm! You have to get the right shade so it looks like nothing. Otherwise they look awful.
I guess I'm one of the only ones, though.

I live in MA and will say that you could get away with open toe and no hose right now as long as you are not outside for extended periods of time. During the day Uggs would definitely be ok. It's starting to get chilly, at night particularly. Since the party is inside I think you'd be fine without hose.

@PrincessBaby: I'm from the Chicago area, and I would skip the hose. If you're worried, I might try black tights. Otherwise, I don't think you look that pale! Also, Uggs are totally okay!

I'm on New England and I say no to panty hose. Sally Hansen makes a "spray on" panty hose. It's sort of like self tanner but not as shiny if that makes sense. They sell it next to the panty hose at Walgreens/cvs
Also, I've rocked my uggs already. It has been pretty warm during the day, especially in the sun but I've put my LO in her fleece boots and uggs all month

I loooove black tights. in my city, EVERYONE wears them.
when i'm brave enough to bare my legs I wear super thin nude tights to smooth my leg and give me a little tan. suuuper thin, like 10 denier so they're barely there. maybe this makes me super uncool, but no one has ever noticed (or at least, said anything!) before!

@PrincessBaby: I live in CT. Here even though it may be cold to non-CTers, it's not really cold enough yet for tights, which is what most "younger" people would wear here. Very few people I know, wear pantyhose, even in the cold months.
