Just saw this.. Would you rock a crop top? Personally, I'm too old for this at 37.

Noooo. And I never would have as a teenager either. Just not my thing.

Now, no way in hell. But I did rock a baby tee back in high school (NOT to school - just out to the under-age dance clubs or whatever). Not full belly-baring, but definitely showed a little bit..

Not that much! I would maybe wear a super high bottom with a crop top that pretty much touched and maybe exposed up to an inch of upper midriff. Maybe.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
Maybe. If I were in a beach town or something. But definitely not at 2 months postpartum!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
To some degree I don't know what I would wear if I had a baby like that. But since I don't and never will, no
apricot / 347 posts
Um no way. Even if I had the body for it, it's too revealing for my taste.
eggplant / 11824 posts
No way, no matter how awesome my body was. But it doesn't surprise me that she would be wearing one!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
Nope. Not with all the stretch marks and belly issues since having a kid!
I never even wore them before I had a child though.
pear / 1739 posts
I used to wear stuff like that to the teen dances in town. Now I have stretch marks everywhere and everything jiggles so I wouldn't be caught dead in it.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
No no no. (Wait, does it count that my maternity shirts don't always meet my pants now at 39.5 weeks pregnant?? )
I had some shorter shorts in high school that would show a flash of skin when I lifted my arms or something but that's about it. My belly has never been a spot I wanted to show off.

I don't think I'm confident enough in my midriff...If I had a six-pack -- possibly I have one crop top, but it goes with a high-waisted skirt so no actual skin is exposed. I do like the cutout trend, though. I rented a dress from RTR recently with some side cutouts and I loved it! I wanted to keep it...lol

Nope. I wouldn't have as a teenager either! Even if I had an amazing body and loads of confidence, it's just not my thing.

I did in college but would never now! Even if my stomach looked as good as it did younger, I'm too old for that.
papaya / 10570 posts
Some of my tops actually look like this after DH has tumble dried them!! But no - I wouldn't wear a top like that. Nobody wants to see my belly!
nectarine / 2521 posts
If this had been a fad when I was in college, heck yes. Since graduating and leaving the college scene, not so much.
pear / 1593 posts
No. I don't have the body for it now, but even if I still did, it just invites people to look at you, and I prefer to blend into a crowd :). That said I did used to wear embarrassingly short shorts so maybe I just dont do midriff.
persimmon / 1458 posts
Hell no, after 2 kids and a third on the way it's just not where I want it to be. Although even if I did have a flat stomach I still wouldn't . I'm 37 and it just doesn't fell like an appropriate look to me.
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
I read that she just had a tummy tuck so I'm sure she's just showing it off. She is an attention whore for sure...
I'm 35 and the only time I expose my stomach is in a hot yoga class, I'll wear yoga pants and a sports bra. A shirt feels so gross when it's soaked.
Other than that - no. I'm pretty skinny but I'm a mom and I just don't think it's appropriate.

Um yes! A tasteful crop top with a high waisted pencil skirt is super flattering, and only shows maybe. .5-1" of skin.
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
No, I wouldn't wear a midriff now.
One time and one time only, I tied up an white Oxford shirt exposing my tummy a bit and wore it with trousers. I thought it was edgy, but then a professor I was meeting with called me out how silly it looked. I took it down as soon as I left his office

Only at Crossfit, which doesn't count, and it's been at least a year! Thing are much smooshier after #2
grapefruit / 4418 posts
I totally would on vacation or something, but probably not in my day to day life, other than running.
nectarine / 2973 posts
No. Mainly because I've never been very comfortable with my stomach area. I'm not necessarily anti crop top for others though. Some of them look cute, especially if it's just showing a tiny amount.
eggplant / 11287 posts
I will expose midriff with something high waisted, so only an inch or two. But what that lady has showing is just too much for me.
I'd wear things like this:
I don't think "being a mom" means you can't expose a couple inches of midriff.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: those look classy. I feel like Kim Z tries to hard to be young and sexy
kiwi / 739 posts
@Rainbow Sprinkles: I have worn something like that- well not near as fabulous-
So I'm a big yes. I like the sliver of midriff exposed. I would not show ribs-below belly button. Even without kids I don't feel comfortable showing that at my age!
grapefruit / 4819 posts
Umm, no. I have good abs (or I did before getting pregnant again!) but at 36, I'm far too old for that look. I'll bare my belly at the beach in a bikini and that's about it.
clementine / 756 posts
Potentially. I definitely did in college and I might now if I lost some weight. Maybe not quote that high, but a little midriff. Being a mom doesn't need to mean I can't wear something a little racy.
