you could get your house cleaned professionally 2X a month?
I have an opportunity for a side job so I'm considering it. I don't like cleaning.

Depends how often you're working now and how much more the added work would be.
For example, I woke 55+ hours per week. I couldn't take on more without going nuts after some time. If I worked a 40 hour week, it'd be an option to consider.

Absolutely! DH and I are planning on doing this when I go back. I'll have to work an extra 4 hours/month. Totally worth it IMHO.

Not for me! I love cleaning my house - it's working I don't like!! I'd much rather work less hours and have more time to clean my house!!

No. A side job for me wouldn't pay enough for me to lose that time at home. I hate, hate, hate cleaning but I'd rather be home than away from my family.

As I wrote the post and thought about the pros and cons, I thought i jumped off the fence into definitely YES. It is a work at home side job. It will help my career a bit and I can do it when LO is sleeping. Because of LOs age, I think doing this temporarily for a year may be worth it. I guess it boils down to all the other things the money could buy (or save) if I were to clean my own house!

In general I'm a total saver. But I'm a big believer that having a house cleaner "buys" me less stress in my life and more time with my family and it's worth every penny.

I don't hate housework, although I never do it! I would never pay for it, or work extra for it because I'd rather buy new shoes!

Probably not, it isn't that big of an effort for me to clean and I would rather spend the time at home than at work.

Depends on how many hours. I work a *lot* of hours in my normal week, so the number of extra hours (even working from home) would need to weigh heavily.
Though, I'm leaning towards yes because I'd rather spend my time with my family in a clean home. I figure I can either be "away" from them cleaning, or away from them doing a bit of extra work.

Hi all,
Yesterday I started filling out my application, was convinced I was going to do it and it was worth a few hours. All signs pointed to me getting the job and being right for the job. Then here I am at a semi-rough day, mainly because I am coming down with a cold won't have time to workout, not to mention a messy house. I need time to relax, re energize and definitely don't want to pay the consequences of additional job responsibilities right now. I have a few more days to decide. But right now I am leaning toward NO, just relax. I have always been on the fence on whether I am an ambitious type A or a laid back type B. Today I am Type B.
