My DH and I found a house we are really interested in and meets all the criteria on our list- in a really great area with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance, awesome town close to beach, 3 bedroom, great school district, within our budget, and has an older colonial feel and charm.
The ONLY problem is we just found out that a low income housing complex is located right across the street (we had originally thought it was an elderly complex). I am not trying to stereotype low income properties by any means; I think they are extremely valuable and helpful for people who use them correctly, but I also think they are sometimes unfortunately filled with crime and drugs.
Would you consider buying a home next to one? We would buy this home in a heartbeat if it was just me and DH, but now that we have a baby, her safety trumps everything else.
