I think I'm reading it right, you haven't heard from her in a week but you also haven't called/emailed her in that time? Or have you tried contacting her since then and she's ignored you?

If you haven't contacted her since, I would definitely try, because there could have been a genuinely good reason why she didn't contact you as she said she would. Also, if you contact her it shows you are enthusiastic and willing to take the initiative. I always worry that potential employers are 'testing' me to see if I really want the job!

Well I think if you left her a voicemail you have made an effort and she should be able to see that. Some people are very disorganised and perhaps junebugsmama is right that you were lucky to avoid getting involved with an unprofessional person!

@jh524: either 1. She is out of the office (traveling/sick/whatever) or 2 she is backtracking and actually can't hire you and instead of being professional is ignoring you.

Maybe you could try contacting the human resources dept of the company and inquire about your new employment.

It also sounds like something could've happened that perhaps she is actually out of the office for personal reasons. It could be too that she's being unprofessional either way, I would likely try one more follow-up and contact HR to even see if she's there. If she is the you definitely know it's her being unprofessional and maybe consider yourself lucky.

"part time work from home" jobs are often made out to sound much better than they are anyway. I would probably just cut your losses and stop trying to contact her.

@jh524: I think I'd move on. There are a lot of red flags to me (being hired on the spot, no offer letter, friending you on facebook, not returning your calls). Even if you still have the job, would you want to work for someone that unprofessional and flighty?
