What is your mama like? Do you feel like your personality and/or parenting style will be similar, or different?

My mom is very, very frugal, loving, concerned (she'll ask a million questions about something you're going to do), conservative, loyal. She's very much into tough love. Strict.
Our parenting styles are similar - I mostly model my style after hers. We have similar personality traits but not necessarily the same personality.

We have some similarities but we're pretty different I think. She's ultra loving. self-sacrificing and puts her family #1, even above her husband. I'm not as sacrificing when it comes to my family. I believe more in balance. She's like 99% about the kids, which is great for us, but not so great for my dad.

My mom is also very loving, very self-sacrificing and very involved in all aspects of all three of our (her children that is) lives. She’s always gone out of her way to help us with things that we need. I hope that I can parent like her!
Personality wise she is very dramatic, overly sensitive and prone to exaggeration…. All qualities that I inherited

My mom is very selfless, and very laid back. She lived/lives for her kids. She let us get away with a lot.... like she didn't care if things got broken or dirty because well, they were just things and she just wanted us to be happy, and if playing with something like glitter in the living room made us happy, then so be it.
I try to be like her. I worked hard to start my career by going to grad school and working my tush off... but then I met DH and decided a family was more important to me so I put that on hold to stay home with my LO and focus on her. Still I don't think I'm as selfless as my mom. I am laid back like her though. I let LO get away with murder when DH isn't around
