I stocked up on groceries in the weeks before, so I wouldn't have to worry about getting out right away.

I prepped freezer meals to cook while on leave and it is one of the best things I did...next to stocking up on household items.

I also got contacts and glasses before baby. And sanitized my pump parts, bottles, and pacis. And made freezer meals, and lactation cookies.

Having snacks around is so helpful. Granola bars, nuts, cereal. (Or if you're me, cookies, chocolate energy balls, and a ton of roasted chicken drumsticks).

I feel like 99% of this stuff is up to personal preference. Ours was pretty long, here is a copy/paste.

Make list of Hospital Bag Last-Minute Stuff
Practice putting on the Moby
Wash dogs
Haircut
Dog nails trim
Mount wooden baby name on wall
Fix sink drain
Assemble crib
Get car seat inspected
Mulch the muddy area in the yard

Costco run for life essentials (cereal, soap, dish soap and laundry detergent, shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, olive oil, cereal, TP, paper towels)

Buy food for labor (snickers, ice cream, PB, honey sticks, white bean hummus pita chips) and postpartum (Totinos, Bagel Bites, Amy’s organic burritos, steel cut oats, almonds)

Spackle/paint wall hole (ETA: LOL I don't even remember WTF this was about...)
Set up co-sleeper
Paint nursery windowsill
Finish taxes
Finish hospital bags

I bought newborn and size one diapers in prep for my last baby, doubled all meals for the last two months before her birth, and washed whatever clothes we were gifted. Oh! And I bought her a special newborn sleeper to come home in. That's absolutely it with my last baby.

I had a list a mile long with my first!

i made a top priority list a couple of days ago when it hit me i have 3 weeks to my due date (now i have 2.5 weeks) and i still have this left to do: (broken in 3 groups i categorized as most important also)

install car seat
pack hospital bag
put together bassinet (and set up master bedroom to fit it)
get newborn clothes ready (means going through 2.5 years of DS1's stuff and new stuff i bought and prioritizing what i need right away and washing it)
clear out guest room for my mom to stay (it's become storage with all the old baby stuff)

put together swing and make space downstairs for newborn gear like swing, play mat, etc
put together music and entertainment on my phone for hospital
buy small glider for master bedroom

haircut
mani/pedi
waxing
find or buy my winter boots (haven't found them since we moved into our house)
find a house cleaning service to do a one time deep clean of our house in hopes that i just have to maintain for a while after
prepare some frozen meals and snacks

things i accomplished recently that was on my priority list was contacting DS1's pediatrician and letting them know i am having another baby that i would like the ped to see, and buying newborn diapers, and getting DH to prioritize clearing out the guest room (we got rid of a lot of crap today!)

I'm only 5 weeks.

So.

Everything. ...

I've already done most of the things on my list. The remaining items are:

- put last few bits into hospital bag
- clean the nursery again
- get kitchen and dining room in order (after building work)
- unpack and clean steriliser and bottles
- decorate hall, stairs & landing
- get bathroom radiator fixed
- insulate under the bath (there's a draft)
- take dogs to vets for some teeth out
- get whooping cough vaccination
- paint patch of wall in lounge where radiator was removed
- put up a few pictures
- repaint fireplace & lounge windiwsill
- buy lounge rug

Yikes! That's loads and I keep thinking of more as I write! Agh!

I have done a lot...but here is what I still have left to do:

-Stock my pantry
-stock my freezer (plain meat and freezer meals)
-get my breast pump
-0 to 3 month clothing washed (hand me downs from DD1)
-last few items packed in bags
-wrap the gift DD2 is bringing to K
-Write out K's schedule/info for the sitter

I think thats it? I stock piled a lot more stuff the first go around but now it seems a lot different knowing how comfortable I am with Amazon, Jet, Boxed and other online subscription services.
