I am 19 weeks and am trying to figure out what is going on with my morning sickness and how to wean off of medication (and if that is even possible at this point). I don't see my midwife for two more weeks, I could call though.

I have been taking B6 and unisom, initially just half a tablet, then we upped it to a whole tablet and added 4 mg of zofran taken once or twice a day (with the option of a third but I only had to do that once). Between the two 80% of the vomiting ended and I am mostly just dealing with nausea.

The issues:
--The whole tablet of unisom isn't working as well so I frequently vomit first thing in the morning now, my theory is I just got used to it so I decided if I throw up either way I may as well try backing down to a half tablet again for a week and then upping it again. Thoughts? I could also get the prescription version filled which is time released but the co-pay is $40 which seems silly.

--I would rather take as little zofran as possible, often I can take it late in the morning and still manage to get enough calories in and not throw up or only throw up a little so typically I do that. If I am having a great day I have tried to skip it which usually goes fine until the next day. For example, I skipped it yesterday but now it is 1pm and I have thrown up a few times and barely eaten, I will likely need to take it twice today since usually the first dose on a day like today just takes the edge off and I need the second one to be able to eat.

Sorry this is so long, I remember going through this when my dad had cancer and finding the balance is so hard. I have half a mind to call palliative care since I feel like the midwives were guessing just as much as I am.
