My back has been hurting a little each day. But, today my lower left back is killing me. Sitting here at work is so unbearable.
Has anyone had the same thing?

I have had bad on and off back pain my whole pregnancy. If its localized to one spot at the moment for you I would assume you probably slept in a weird position. For me personally pregnancy pillows didn't help but they do for a ton of women so vmaybe look into that option?

@MamaMoose: It just started this afternoon. I'm think it's the chair I have at work or the fact that I sit for 8hrs a day? Idk but this blows...

@Pumpkinspice: uh yes my work chair is tough on me too. I found that putting my feet up on the printer under my desk helped. I also told my boss she had two options: 1. I come to work in sneakers or 2. Don't come to work : )

I had really bad low back pain in the second trimester and I wasn't even big then.....it resolved after I had 2 massages (back to back weekends).

I was told by a massage therapist over the weekend to put a yoga brick (or piece of wood of similar size) under my desk to prop my feet on during the day. I haven't actually done it yet but I hope that will help with lower back pain. Worth a shot at least?

@bpaig: I did this! I stacked books up under my feet and got a back support for my chair. The only thing that seemed to help was the massages (could have been a coincidence).

My sacrum has been causing me problems (i initially thought it was my sciatic nerve). My chiropractor says it's from things being all loosey goosey, likely coupled with my activity level and it just kind of getting stretched out of place. I ice it every other day or so and get it adjusted every other week. Once, i had a very, very hard time walking. Every step hurt. I went in, he adjusted me, I iced it, the next day, i felt like a million bucks. I also have these stretches I have to do for it.

I have this too. It was totally my office chair (which I only got this past summer and has been great up until now...I blame changing body proportions).
Anyhow, I asked our assistant to order me this goofy looking contraption and it has made a WORLD of difference: http://www.amazon.com/Fellowes-Professional-Series-Support-8037601/dp/B000WTO52I. The other thing that's really helped is sleeping with a pillow between my knees to ensure proper alignment.

Ah good info!
And I'm sorry you all are also having pain but it's nice to not be the only one lol
I'm going to look into that cushion @hergreenapples:

I am having issues too. I think if is from my office chair too. I need to get a pillow and see if that will help. I have noticed too sitting on the couch it is starting to hurt. I started putting a pillow behind me and it helps.

Yes, ugh, I've got it too! It's terrible when I stand or walk around for more than 15 minutes.

It's crazy that some of this stuff happens so early on.
I'm having some ligament type pain in my lower stomach area today as well so it's going to be a long 8 hours at work lol

@Pumpkinspice: I've been having the round ligament pain all yesterday evening and this morning too Ugh.

@bpaig: It's def growing time for some of us it seems.

I'm only 13w4d and my back pain and round ligament pain kicked in this week too. And I think my uterus must have shifted directly ontop of my intestines because I have this weird sensation of pressure/gas.. but not. It's so uncomfortable.
apricot / 348 posts
@Pumpkinspice: I think you're right, that must be what it is. I'm at 18 weeks and I've noticed more itchy skin on my stomach too, like in the beginning when I first started growing.

@JoJoGirl: Boo back pain and you are early with the ligament pain so that sucks for sure!
@bpaig: I haven't noticed any itching as of yet but my DH and I both noticed I've grown A LOT in the past week or so.

@JoJoGirl: I had some ligament pain around 12 and 13 weeks too I felt that weird sensation in the beginning when my uterus must have somehow been placing pressure on my bladder. I felt like I always had to go to the bathroom... but I didn't. Hopefully the pressure sensation will ease up for you! I think it has for me. Or I've just gotten used to it

@Pumpkinspice: @bpaig: Yeah this doesn't bode well for later down the road The ligament pain comes and goes but this bladder/intestines thing is so weird!

i had horrible lower back pain - thankfully i work at a PT clinic, and found out that it's a dysfunctional si joint and a over compensating sacrum or something like that - either way a few massages have helped, and i've laid off my running since that's just making it worse.
Everyone keeps telling me that it'll get worse before it gets better...i sense lots of massages in my future

I'm ready for the back pain to go at any time.
I am not thrilled about it at all lol

Oh yes. Yes, yes, yes. I started having lower back pain in the late first/early second trimester and it's just gotten worse from here (sorry!). I also had tremendously bad hip pain from a twisted pelvic joint due to the pregnancy, I had to start visiting a chiropractor regularly and she's helped a LOT. But the back pain (which sometimes wraps around my front, but not in a contraction-y way) is clearly muscular from the feel of it and acts up most when I've been in bed all night (there's only so many times you can flip from side to side) or sitting in my office chair all day. I'm getting a prenatal massage on Saturday and I'm sosososo excited!

I had lot of growing pains in my uterus before week 20. Now it's sort of subsided. Definitely comes in spurts!

@ladyfingers: Oh sweet jesus I would probably do just about anything for a prenatal massage!!!!!!!!!
@blackbird: I'm not sure why I'm so surprised by all of this lol but I haven't been pregnant in 6 years so I feel like I've forgotten what all happens in the beginning and middle,
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
