What cycle day are you?? Could the darkening opk be a good sign?? Sometimes when pregnant you will have a pos opk. That would be wonderful!!!
I'm pro-choice as well, but I know a girl who has had 4 and that just makes me sick. It isn't birth control!! I would hate if your friend has problems getting pregnant later in life as well, she will hate herself!

@HolisticMama: i bought a 2 month pack and it was around $40 which made me think I should just put that money towards a monitor. Oh well, we'll see :). The instructions say to start CD 10 with a 27 day cycle but I may start using them around CD 7 bc I'm paranoid about missing the window of opportunity

@fotolori1: That thought has definitely crossed my mind, but I'm only likely 5DPO, CD20. It's still a really fun thought though. I feel like OPKs and cycles can just be nutty crazy, but I try to go with the flow. I'm trying to enjoy the TTC journey as best I can.

@fotolori1: Also. I'm a creeper and going through your old posts.
Do we have the same RE? LOL.

My doctor told me the same thing.

@sandy: Can you use yours with FMU? Because I'm really interested in that.
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
@HolisticMama: it says on the box that you can use FMU and my friend said she used FMU bc she had a crazy work schedule. She used it with success with both her kids. My other friend used it in the afternoon and had success the first time trying it too. She had one BFN with her second LO and used it the following month for a BFP

I never knew my friends used the OPKs. I just assumed they got pregnant quickly by luck. It was only after I told them I bought the OPKs that they told me they used them too

The dr that told me that was my regular GYN. I started seeing an RE not long after that.
I am still confused about all that stuff. Why would there be such a thing as a long or short luteal phase if they were all 14 days regardless. Didn't make a ton of sense to me!
apricot / 386 posts
@HolisticMama: we are one day off from being on the same cycle day! On on CD19.. 6 dpo! We can be poas buddies! Do you have a regular 28 day cycle?
persimmon / 1167 posts
@fotolori1: Yup. Pretty darn regular. Although last month was 27 days. AF kind of surprised me. When do you think you are going to start POAS?
Initially I thought I would just wait for AF's arrival, but I thought testing might be able to help prepare myself mentally if AF is actually on the way.

@sandy: I had that experience when I started talking about my journey. People came out of the woodwork to tell me about their journey, which often included OPKs, MCs, and many other trails and tribulations.

I know! It seems like lots of stories start surfacing, I've also started seeing pregnant women EVERYWHERE I GO!

More crazy psychosymatic symptoms at 2DPO. Ravenous today. Hungry every second. Still very tired. Gas and body aches. Of course gas could be from eating non stop. So watch me end up BFN and really fat for February BD.

@sandy: This. After 2 months of paying $40 for opks, I just went ahead and ordered the monitor. It's supposed to be delivered today (CD 3 so I can start on CD 4), but I'm worried the winter storm DC is getting ready to get will have other plans for Mr. UPS. Oh well, you can start using it up until CD 5, so fingers crossed!

Well, BFN for me this morning so I guess it is late ovulation. We did not BD last night because I got home late from a girls dinner. Is today O day for me , or was it yesterday? I plan to BD tonight, but am only going to push it if this isn't O+1. Thoughts? My early POAS day is 1/31.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
So temps are mildly up this morning... I can only hope it's due to ovulation, but it's probably due to a screaming baby waking me up and getting my heart racing. Le sigh.

@mrcarthy- lol, I feel you're pain. The other day I justified having a burger milkshake and fries because I could *possibly be pregnant. We all do it.

@bushelandapeck: hard to tell since digital not accurate
If you don't take every day. Do you have cheapie OPK you can use?
pear / 1846 posts
@bushelandapeck: i would test again with an opk if it isnt positive i would say today is likely to be O day.
pomelo / 5720 posts
@littlek: I don't have any cheap ones but I'm fine with using the digital one when I get home. I looked at the line inside the digital yesterday and there was only one dark line....is that normal? I assumed there would be two like the regular ones but there wasn't. Sheesh. I will definitely be using the CBEFM next month!
pomelo / 5720 posts
@littlek: That's what was so strange....there was just the one dark one. Sigh. I have no idea what is going on.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@bushelandapeck: the problem is it does a comparative test so it's higher than the last time you tested.. I don't like digitals because I feel like they told me I ovulated earlier than I really did
pomelo / 5720 posts
@littlek: Ohhhh.....that's interesting. Thanks for clarifying that! Yet another reason I won't be able to use those going forward. haha.

@HolisticMama: Awww, thanks for the positive thoughts! That kitty made me smile! And it's funny you should mention that story about a friend who terminated her pregnancy because I was just thinking about something very similar. I know someone who terminated a pregnancy WITH HER HUSBAND! There was no circumstance to justify it other than she wasn't sure if she was ready yet. I know it's not my place to judge anyone's decisions, but I keep thinking of how lucky she was and how much I wish I was in her place. I guess the hope for anyone is that you get pregnant when you want to be pregnant, but I'd take anything right about now!
@MrsMccarthy: Hahaha! Fat BDing! Let me tell you that it has already happened to me (put on a few over the holidays!) so you'll be in good company
honeydew / 7295 posts
@bushelandapeck: what a bummer. I've read that pregnancy can show up on an OPK sooner than a pregnancy test so you may not be out but you could also be having an annovulatory cycle where your body keeps gearing up to O then doesn't. I'm so sorry you are going through all this. As of MC isn't hard enough. I hope a BFP or AF arrive soon so you can have peace of mind and some idea what your body is up to.
I had crazy nightmares last night. So unusual for me because I barely ever dream. There goes my wacky head making it into a "symptom" again.
pomelo / 5720 posts
@MrsMccarthy: thanks lady I appreciate the positive thoughts. I do feel like my body is doing something....whether that is gearing up for O/AF/BFP remains to be seen. I have had cramps on/off the past couple of days and a lot of gas (TMI) but for all I know it was something I ate. haha.
persimmon / 1167 posts
@MrsMccarthy: I love hearing about your symptoms. It makes me feel like I'm not alone. LOL.
On Saturday night, I had a nightmare that actually made me physically leap out of bed. I've been remembering all my dreams lately, but in that particular dream- someone threw a baby directly in my face. It was....odd.

@HolisticMama: let's hope these are good signs for us and not just signs we need to be hauled away in straight jackets!
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
@Adira: that's so frustrating...it's like "hey X, don't you know mama is trying to chart/temp...keep it down!"
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@sandy: Seriously! I tried to explain it to him, but I could tell from his big fat tears that he wasn't listening.
persimmon / 1167 posts
@MrsMccarthy: Progesterone is such a wild hormone. In fact, I think all hormones are a tad bit crazy. I'm CD21 and just feel like I'm dragging. I blame it on the progesterone.

@sandy: It just came!!! I'm way more excited than I should be. The outside of the box says CB FAM Starter Kit Eep! Anyone ttc could figure that out lol. Or maybe you'd have to really be in the know to know that it stands for Clearblue Fertility Awareness Monitor Starter Kit

@dc yoga bee: I'll bet no one noticed. usually the things we are super tuned in to others are more oblivious to. unless they are someone super close to you.
@HolisticMama: yeah. i mean last month we dtd one time at like O-4 and i was still analyzing symptoms. then I got AF early at 8DPO. I also really didnt think i was pregnant when i was with my first. I did get some signs that time but they weren't until like 10DPO. I know it's super early.
persimmon / 1259 posts
@dc yoga bee: Depending on where my cycles go from here, I might be joining you on that purchase!
I posted on the 6+ months thread yesterday, but I did have my ultrasound yesterday and they confirmed I have polycystic ovaries. The next step is the bloodwork to see if I am also insulin resistant, and if so, Clomid will possible not be the right answer and I'll be on the Metformin instead. But I'm actually still feeling very positive about this cycle, so I'm going to continue to hold out hope that the 50mg/day of Clomid that I just finished will do it's job.

Just catching up on the thread- sounds like some people are having really good symptoms!
We did not end up BDing last night, but definitely will tonight.
No more EWCM, which makes me think maybe it was leftovers from BDing the night before? Or do bodies usually have a day of EWCM followed by being dry? I am new to the whole tracking CM thing.
OPKs this morning was darker than it has been, so FX I O in the next couple days!
@sarahnicole218: FX clomid works! I am so sorry to hear about the polycystic ovaries.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Crystal: I'd definitely BD tonight.
@dc yoga bee: Mine came too. I can't use till next cycle though.
I'm already discounting this cycle since I've been sick and I'm really worried I can't keep up the BD. We BD on Sunday and our planning on tonight. My poor husband, nothing like swapping germs to try and get me KU.
