I have my first marathon in two weeks and recently found out the I am pregnant!!!! As of today, I am 4 weeks pregnant! I'm finding conflicting material regarding the safety of my unborn baby. I have been training for the marathon for the past 6 months and ran 17 miles at a slower pace this last Saturday before confirming my wonderful news of my pregnancy! Am I safe to run the marathon at a slow pace, stopping to hydrate, and pausing to fuel with gels (not containing caffeine)? Or, do I need to sit this one out and try again another year?
