We did! We had the crib in our room and still do - she's 19 months! We do have a box room too but it's meant for storage. We will make it into a bedroom soon as we hope to have a second baby. You can do it!

We didn't, but looking back, it would not have been an issue at all.

If you do decide to make a sleeping nook for your baby in the living room, you can always get a second TV or move the one from the LR into the bedroom. I did find it easier to have the baby in a separate area only because my husband had a difficult time leaving for work in the morning without waking up the entire apartment building, lol.

We lived in a 1 br for 8 months with the baby and it wasn't that bad. He stayed in a pnp or rnp next to my side of the bed for about 5 months. We had a small hallway where our water heater and our laundry is as well as a door to the bathroom. We put up a black out curtain and moved the pnp to the hallway and he was fine! There were even some nights where we ran the dryer while he was sleeping and it wasn't an issue. We had the white noise going and a little fan to maintain airflow. I'm not saying it was awesome but it's definitely doable.

Have you thought about creating a separate space for your room in the living room and putting LO in the bedroom? I think that'd be easier if you want to be able to use te kitchen, living room while LO sleeps. Also if you happen to have laundry in unit, you might want to do that while LO sleeps.

Totally doable! We didn't have one in a one bedroom but were planning on two in a two bedroom at least in the beginning!

we do. her crib is set up next to our bed, BUT we co sleep so it didn't matter that we set up half the room to be hers.

We're thinking of putting up a bookcase divider and taking the living room so we can watch TV when she sleeps

I have a spacious 2 story, 2 bedroom condo but the layout was not ideal for a newborn to be in her own bedroom. The bedrooms are on different levels and I did not want to climb up and down the stairs all the time while recovering from my c-section. So we all slept in the master bedroom. Baby's crib is in the room too.

Definitely possible! This is my SIL and BIL's current living situation with they 4-mos old and I think it will continue to be into the toddler years.

We're in a big studio with a 19 month old and love it! His bed is next to ours, we turn off the lights at his bedtime and hang out in the kitchen. Talking doesn't wake him up, and we can watch videos if we keep the volume down.

Sleep training was impossible of course. I just had to get up with him every night so the wailing would not wake up DH. But I don't regret all the extra cuddles now.

The only downside now is that we do have to move eventually. In hindsight, it would have been better to move before he was born so he would not have to leave his home, friends and neighbors.

Yep! We cosleep so it's not an issue.
