Another customer helped me load my boxes of soda on the grocery store checkout conveyor belt and a woman returned my cart for me yesterday! I definitely don't expect special treatment but it is nice when it happens!

Oh how nice. I start the third trimester Monday, so we shall see... My DH is nice to me and that's the best

People are nicer when you are more noticeably pregnant, which for me wasn't until my 3rd trimester. But they also ask more questions and try to rub my belly more

I've experienced a mixed bag. Yes, people are nice to me... but I also get some weird as heck comments from strangers too. I prefer the first tri/early second tri days of pregnancy anonymity haha!

I'm with Grizz on this one. Some people have been nice and helpful. But the "wow, you're about to pop!" And "look, you've got the preggo waddle" comments have increased as well as the unsolicited advice.
I'd trade the help with high shelves and grocery bags to make those comments go away!

@grizz: & @MrsRoo: Agreed!
There are pros and cons! Entirely too many people wanted to share their opinion with me on everything. But there were a lot of people who were just nicer in general...they would give their seat up on the train for me or let me go first. That part was very nice!

Men were nicer to me in the 2nd trimester when I was a cute pregnant lady. But women weren't nicer to me until my 3rd trimester. By then I was as big as a house and looked pissed all the time. The men wouldnt even make eye contact, but women suddenly got super nice. Probably because they know how much the end suuuuucks.

Nice!
But nope, not really. People don't even hold the door for me most of the time or give me a little extra room on the stairs! I mostly get left alone, save a few random comments from coworkers (who are antisocial and odd ducks anyways)

Some were for sure. Some just liked to give their opinions!

Yeah, agreed: a mixed bag. Some are nicer, some just see it as an invitation to give more advice/comments/opinions, since they are now quite certain you are pregnant. I look forward to your inevitable upcoming postings on the peanut gallery board
