My DD1 was born in 2012 and we had an adorable newborn session in the state we lived in at the time - the photographer posed her in all kinds of cute positions and there were lots of headbands and tutus and props.

We live in another state now, and I found a GREAT photographer that just did DD's 2yo pics...I looked on her site and she does gorgeous NB pics, but they're a totally different style. Much more natural - no posing, a lot of natural light and baby skin, and lots of photos of baby in the natural environment of home with family. They're beautiful! But completely different.

DD1 has a couple of really stunning NB pics I put on canvas. I asked the new photographer about trying to copy the poses/outfits (as much as possible) with DD2, and I could hang them all together. I thought it would be fun:)

The new photog emailed me back, and basically said that she doesn't do a lot of propped/posed stuff and that honestly even if she tried to mimic it, it would be really hard to capture the same lighting/pose/etc (I wasn't looking for exact, tbh. Just the same hair bow and general pose!). Then she said she knows a couple of photographers who "still" do poses for newborns, like putting them in the froggy pose, and she can give me their contact info if that's what I'm looking for.

Is the cutesy posey style of NB pics out of style? She is a really nice person so her use of the world "still" kind of surprised me.

She has beautiful pics, but their photos would be two totally different styles and I don't know how I feel about that.

I actually know a really good newborn photographer here that did DD1's 1 yr old pics, and has the same style that I like, but she's a total asshole and I don't want to give her one red cent ever again.

I can't decide which direction to go! Indecisiveness is my worst pregnancy symptom!
