@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: no, they aren't hard to wrap. We get DS a good variety of things, so it's not a bunch of the same thing under the tree.

Ours were wrapped...don't know about DH's...probably wrapped, too, knowing his mom. I love wrapping presents for DS, and wrapping them deters any snooping (he hasn't started it yet, but I'm prepared.

Wrapped, always. In a different paper than my parents used. DH's parents do the same thing, so no debate there
I am so looking forward to doing it!

Wrapped in special Santa paper! No idea what DH's parents did but he's all about my side's Christmas experience since we make it so fun. We even wrap some stocking stuffers!

I'm really liking the idea of unwrapped and assembled gifts. I hated waiting for my dad to put my stuff together before I could play with it. Just thinking about a mini toy store set up under the tree makes me happy.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: haha! Mini toy store... Exactly
So I was telling DH about this thread, and I said he wasn't going to win this fight, and he was like "hey, I think it's super weird but I'M not going to wrap presents so it'll end up being whatever you want". Score!

Unwrapped! My mom use to say "do you want Santa to wrap your presents? He wanted me to ask. I think you get more if he doesn't wrap them....." Hahaha her way of getting out of wrapping stuff. My SO's family did some wrapped and some unwrapped. So we do unwrapped too.

Santa always left ours in brown paper grocery bags with our initials on the outside. My parents reused the bags from year to year. Santa has since been doing this for my younger cousins as well. We will probably do this for our kids. My parents also have a strict policy that on Christmas morning everyone opens gifts one at a time, including those from Santa. It was a test of patience for sure!

WTF! People don't wrap Santa's gifts??? This is BLOWING MY MIND!!!!
Santa's gifts were ALWAYS wrapped in special fancy paper with a note signed in a glittery pen!!! I'm excited to do the same for my kids!
@mrs. 64: My family is the same way - everyone takes turns opening a present and we just go round and round until all the presents are open. Hubs' family isn't like that though - everyone just tears into their gifts at the same time. I'm not sure what we'll do with our own family!

@sslm: I was oging to say - if he wants them wrapped then maybe he can do it! Glad he admitted that he wouldn't wrap them - haha
Ours were always wrapped, I didn't even know Santa didn't wrap presents for some families Unwrapping presents is so exciting!

@mrs. 64: We open gifts one at time too. I like it thought cause this way I get to see everything At DH's it is a free for all and I don't see anyone open our gift or what else they get. I don't like it.

@Adira: I was shocked too when DH said his never were. Then talking with friends, they have had this debate with their DH as well. I told DH Santa gifts will be wrapped. I want to see our kids open then gifts and their expression when they are super excited. I just don't see how you do that when they aren't wrapped. And especially when you have two.

My santa gifts were always wrapped, and in the SAME paper as everything else, and the "From Santa" was written in my mom's handwriting. Guess we were just completely gullible since we never put 2+2 together until we found the gifts in the closet one year...

The big gifts were unwrapped, smaller gifts were wrapped! The Santa gifts were set up on the couches beside our stockings...we opened those first before we went on to the under the tree gifts from parents, grandparents etc.

Chalk up another one here for not knowing Santa's gifts weren't wrapped... never, ever heard of this. The only thing not wrapped was the stuff in our stockings.
We actually "received" gifts from Mrs. Clause (always clothes), The Elves, and Rudolph (usually smaller gifts, like movies/vid or board games) too. Santa's was always the big one. I'll definitely be doing this for our kids, too.

My parents always put them in a big Chrsitmas Plastic Sack to with our name on it. It always looked like Santa's sack. The presents were not wrapped inside. I think I'll do the same!

Santa's gifts used to be unwrapped for us, until my brothers and I would wake up too early to see what Santa brought. Santa wised up and put everything in a big sealed Christmas bag so we'd have to wait until everyone was up to see what Santa brought.
