LOL omg NO. I took the first job I was offered after an extended period of unemployment. While I really like my coworkers, I find that after 2 years I definitely know this is not the kind of job I want long-term.
That being said, I work at a university so the benefits and everything are great and I have a short commute, so I'd love to stay here, but ideally would look for something in a different department.
Longer-term DH & I would LOVE to move back to his home country which would me a radical re-thinking of my career!!

No. I definitely don't think a forever job is a thing. Business / economy is too unpredictable

I didn't vote b/c I don't know!
Good possibility that it is; the job itself is stable; it's close to my home, it's flexible...
But the only thing is I don't really like the company and the job itself. It's hard to find something comparable that's so close to home, so that's why even though I dislike my job it can still be my forever job.

Nope! I love my current job most days (SAHM) but once the youngest is in school full time, I will return to some kind of work, probably part time. I didn't earn two master's degrees to only use them for a short while, but then again, I didn't love either career path I chose nearly as much as I love my current one

Oh gosh I hope not! Although I wouldn't mind if this was my forever company.

Career, yes. Current position? I can't imagine it. I've been here 6 years though, so who knows!

lol the biggest NO
It is extremely common in my field to get a new job every 2-5years. If you aren't looking out for yourself and are cutthroat it an extent it reflects poorly on you.
I love what I do but I know I'll move on in the next 3-5years from this company.

Pretty much, yep. I mean, I suspect that over time, I'll get at least one more promotion and probably a bit more responsibility and people under me, but in general, yes, this is my forever job.

this is a tough one for me. I love my job, but the project I designed and oversee will end in 5 years. There is a chance that my coworker could retire around that time and I could take over her job, but it's probably still a few years early for that. Without that happening, I have no idea what I would do here. And because I work in a very small field, I'm not sure where else I would go.
It is perfect for right now -- as long as I get my work done, no one cases if I am late because of a school event, etc. But there really isn't any opportunity for growth, and my project will end, so I know that I will need to move eventually.

Nope. I would like to move back to the east coast and my company doesn't have an east coat branch anymore. I'm not really sure I like my job. It has changed so much. Not sure if change is something I have to deal with or I have to find another opportunity that I want to do. Money is very good, though. I do wonder if I do leave, will I regret it? As for my career, yeah, I like it. I'm happy with it. I think I just need to find a job closer to home and doing something I like. Especially now since we have our babies now, I really have no reason to stay (besides the pay.) I do need a change of pace, too.

Career field-yes, company-maybe, job-no. I enjoy practicing law, and would like to do it until I retire. I'm a federal govt attorney, so the benefits are excellent, pay is much lower than my counterparts in private practice, but my agency promotes lawyers to 6 figures fairly quickly. I didn't go to school for the money, so I make more than enough. However, my current job is so boring. I miss being in court! ⚖

Not sure. I like my job - it's not my passion which I think is a good thing for me. If I was passionate about it I may have a harder time leaving work at work. It's a great company, happy with the pay and flexibility. But if we move out of the area I am not sure if they will approve for me to work from home.

Probably not. I'm still in my first job post graduate school. I've been here from dating to married with two kids. I've ridden out some bad times to some changes. I have flexibility right now. If I could find something just as flexible, I'll jump ship. For now, I can manage home and work life decently.

Not sure - but I don't see a change for a long time if it does happen - My DH works long hours/travels and this job gives me tons of flexibility which I need with 2 kids!
