since our anatomy scan at week 19 and my glucose test at week 26? all of my other doc appts have lasted all of 5-10 minutes.
i spend more time in the waiting area than i do with the dr.
the nurse checks my urine, bp, baby hearbeat, and weighs me. than dr comes to ask if everything is normal, i say yes, and he tells me the next time i'm due back! 
i'm thankful that i've had a 'regular' average pregnancy... but sometimes it's annoying spending 30 min waiting!

Nope, but they are about equal lengths. My office is awesome though and I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes to be seen by at least the nurse to get started. One time the doc was delivering a baby. That was the only time we had to wait a long time.

No, thankfully. We've never waited and the visits usually last an hour! That's one of the biggest perks of the care providers we have, I think. My pregnancy has been utterly normal but we still talk a lot about the process, what I'm feeling, any questions DH and I have, etc.

Yes in the beginning some of my visits were shorter than my wait time, and I even considered switching doctors, but as the pregnancy progressed and there was more to talk about everything changed

I hate that about dr visits! We would spend hours in the waiting room, then another 15-30 minutes in the patient room before getting seen for 5 minutes!! We're in the process of finding a new main doctor because of this. It's just ridiculous!

@mrsjyw: My experience mimics yours. I actually dont wait too long - about 15 minutes,, but the appointments are fast. Pee, Blood Pressure, Weight, Measure, is everything ok? Yes.

My appointments with my midwife an an hour and I usually wait 15 minutes or so. They don't even weigh me.

We go to a midwife and the minute we get there, we do the urine testing, blood pressure and weigh-in ourselves...it's about a 5 minute wait, and then we have about an hour meeting with the midwife. I like the setup

Most of the time I spent equal times waiting and for the actual visit, but I remember one time I waited a good 45 minutes in the exam room. The nurse came in to apologize a couple times but I was about ready to lay down and take a nap on the exam table!

Not really, but only because I usually don't wait much- maybe 5 minutes. The appointments are pretty short most of the time though.

Yeah, mine too. I usually bring some work to do in the waiting room, and I have (once) told a nurse who came to get me to hold on a second while I finished the sentence I was writing for a work thing!

My wait time was forever! I didn't work so it wasn't a huge deal... but for lo #2 ill either have to entertain a toddler or worry about a babysitter.... so that's going to suck. But ill cross that bridge when I get there.

Usually they are around the same time (although sometimes I have to wait awhile to see the ob after the nurse takes my vitals).

It's typically an hour wait for 5 minutes with a midwife or OB (our practice has both). Not a fan.

Every. single. time.
It doesn't help that our OB's office is always over-booked. One time I waited an hour and a half and my appt. was less than 10 minutes.

Only once, when i got there and they were running 45 minutes behind. So annoying. But i think they like to sneak the maternity visits ahead of the regular GYN visits b/c they're so quick.
I'm really looking forward to my visit in 2 weeks because it's the first OB appointment I've had with my regular OB/GYN. (I've been revolving around the practice so far.) He's SO patient and really takes the time to talk, even when he's running behind, and I've cried in front of him multiple times when I was TTC-ing. i think he's going to be so jazzed to see me pregnant.

I think the longest I've ever waited in the waiting room was 10 minutes. There were a couple times I was still trying to get comfy on the couch in the waiting room when they called me. My OB's office is amazing!

For the most part. which is why I try and do them first thing in the morning, so they aren't as far behind.

I know, the medical system is sooo frustrating. My midwife really does take her time though, and I try to get the first appt of the day so they are more likely to be on time.
