The day of our ultrasound when we found out it was a boy. We went to ihop for breakfast right after and picked his name. Then we went to toys r us and bought him a teddy bear.

We were team green, but we hadn't even settled on a final boy name and girl name by the time I went into labor! We had some top contenders for a girl, and vague ideas for a boy, ha!
(of course we ended up having a boy

I knew before I was pregnant, but DH and I came to an agreement on it in the 3rd trimester

We had a boy name picked out immediately. Once we found out we were having a girl, things got a bit problematic... we had a set list of about 5 names from 20 weeks on, but DD's name was a total dark horse that DH came up with at 36 weeks. We decided for sure at about 38 weeks, but DH was still asking me about it while I was in labor...

When i got matched with my son (we're adopting). I always thought we'd change the name, but his name and its meaning really suits him.

For DS1 we had two names picked out and decided when he was born. We didn't figure out DS2's name until 2 days before he was born.

I should add - if it was a girl instead of a boy, we were decided before we even got pregnant! A name I have loved forever and DH agreed with.

I'm not pregnant yet, but we have four names picked out - two girl names, two boy name. They are pretty "set" meaning we loved them all and they are heavily influenced by family names. It would be perfect if we have four kids, but I realize that likely won't happen. We'll be team green, so we plan to pick from our name choices after baby is born.

We were team green and pretty set on a girl name but unsure on a boy name. When she came out as soon as I looked at her I knew immediately that our girl name "fit" her perfectly so we went with it. Thank goodness we didn't have a boy! It probably would have been a couple days!!!

Since we were Team Green, we went in with two sets of name for each sex. As soon as I saw him, I knew which name we would use.

10 seconds after he was born, before we even laid eyes on him (he wasn't breathing on delivery, so he was rushed away from us to get worked on). We both just *knew*.

We decided the night that we found out the sexes, which was a little after 16 weeks.

We were team green...we had 2 girl names picked out fairly early. The day they were born we were still waffling on boys names. We had girls so thankfully we didn't need them.

@MamaMoose: @MrsKoala: so we were also TG and had a name.for each sex. We always said that we wanted to meet LO before deciding for sure. That plan kinda went out the window on the day of, though-I hadn't even met her after she was born, and she was named! The nurse asked me, what's her name? and I said our girl's name without looking at or really consulting with DH. Whoops. Fortunately, DH and I had a quick side conversation after he came back across the room to me, and we decided that we were still on the same page. Good thing we weren't on the fence-it turns out that I'm impulsive after birth and hopped up on meds
It is totally, 100% perfect for her though. We settled on it as our girl name around 23 weeks. Our boy name changed a little later, arou.d 27 weeks or so?

It was my favorite name before we for pregnant and DH got on board the day we found out the gender at 20 weeks.

we found out the sex at 19 weeks and had a name a few days later

Team green. We decided the girl name pretty early- maybe 20 weeks? But never totally decided on a bit name. Good thing she was a girl. We still waited until we got to spend a little time with her before making it official. Even texted the family "it's a girl! Name coming shorty." My dad said we were just like the royal couple (c is a couple weeks younger than Prince George).
@Caly: were you team green with twins?? That's impressive!

Definitely after the anatomy scan. I think by 24-25 weeks we had decided.

With DS I think I was around 36 weeks when we decided. I'm 28 weeks right now and we are like 95% sure on this little girl's name.

We both knew we liked the name before we were pregnant. Then we got pregnant and agreed no talking names till we knew the gender. We found out it was a girl and decided in the office waiting for the doc after the ultrasound. Middle name was finalized at the hospital in labor.

2nd trimester, dinner at AppleBee's. We were on our usual name brainstorm. Husband suddenly throw out a pretty good name that works both in Chinese and English. I wrote it down on my phone. It turns out to be the only good name we ever come up with, agreed on, and that I ever written down. And that was that. lol

30 weeks ish.
We also had a backup in case lo didn't 'fit' the name

@Foodnerd81: it was surprisingly easy & fun! Not knowing also prevented me from going on a whole lot of shopping sprees since I didn't know what we were having.

@Caly: that's awesome. I et you had some really frustrated friends and family- I did and I only had one baby.

We were
and chose a boy name but had a few girl names going into the hospital. We had a girl and took about an hour after she was born to name her.

We had a boy name and a girl name picked out before we were married. So with DS1 he had a name as soon as we knew he was a boy. With DS2, his name was picked out late 1st trimester.

First time I got pregnant, we had a name picked out. It still felt right to use it when we found out E was a girl

Second trimester. We were trying it out around 27-28 weeks, fully decided by 30 weeks. Oh, I guess that may be third trimester?
GOLD / grapefruit / 4555 posts
We were team green both times but had names pretty set, it just depended on how the child struck us when they got here. For both, the first name was quite obvious as soon as we saw them but on DS we fought on the middle name until right before we left the hospital. For DD, the name just rolled so we just went with it. Who knows how we'll decide the next one!
nectarine / 2765 posts
@Foodnerd81: probably the same as you! There were only a few that were especially frustrated, the others were excited with anticipation along with us, thankfully. They also knew it was a lost cause, we weren't changing our minds.

End of third trimester. I'm 24 weeks with girl #2 and we've yet to discuss names at all.

Decided an hour before we got kicked out of the hospital. Although we knew we were having a girl, and had our top three picked out two or three months before.
