@LAZB: I'm sorry. Speedy recovery for your DH!

@yellowbeach: Is it weird to hope your tests won't come back normal? (nothing bad of course, but you know what I mean.) I wish you would get some new information either way.

@JennyPenny: Those look great, I'm so excited for you!

@SweetCaroline: You have been through more than enough.
I hope you get your baby soon, there has to be a pot of gold on the other side of all that!
Great to hear your workout was so good!

The wondfos aren’t darkening in a way that makes me feel reassured but the FRER looks pretty solid at least. Today is 14DPO and the day AF is due.

I'm sorry I have been a bit absent in the last 24 hours. I fell asleep (heavily medicated trying not to feel the waves of pain and nausea from my cramps) at 1430 yesterday and dozed on and off until I went to bed. My husband was fantastic. He took care of feeding the kids and he served me soup. Today, my Tues/Thursday courses began and then I had to stay for office hours. It was a long day feeling like absolute crud.

Anyway, I just wanted to take a moment to respond:

@fuzzypeaches: Thank you so very much! You are absolutely correct. I have been looking at it as, "Well, it may not have been sticky BUT atleast something took." My secondary infertility makes me miserable at times, but looking at things with a tiny gleam of hope allows me to move forward progressively and to look for more positive outcomes in the future (a possible medicated TI cycle, my IUI, and moving on to IVF) while embracing my current family (support system) as is. Thank you for sharing that pearl of wisdom.

@JennyLayneAZ: Thank you ... It is okay. I'm not thrilled by any means but I need to move forward. Hopefully, my luck will turn around in the next couple of cycles.

@JennyPenny: Those HPTs are beautiful! ... I'm not going to lie, I am a bit jealous, but I am far more happy for you than anything else. I wouldn't worry too much with qualitative line progression (some tests are fickle with line progression). I can't wait to hear your b-HCG numbers! I will be waiting for you to give me the go on adding you to the roster.

@SweetCaroline: Thank you! I, absolutely, understand how you are feeling as I can't catch a break either. It is always something!!! I am [slowly] learning to appreciate even the littlest things that may "go right," even when I feel like I am at my lowest. I am so glad that you are finding a healthy outlet to move ahead. Thinking with the upmost positivity- Perhaps we will be on the May or June Mama's board together?

@Kaohinani: aww thank you. I’m so sorry yours didn’t turn out to be a happy ending, but I have everything crossed for you. I don’t know if there is really any truth behind the stories of increased fertility the cycle after a CP but it seemed to work in my case any way. Maybe next cycle will be it for you!

    @JennyPenny: Thank you so much!
I can definitely use as many fingers and toes crossed as anyone can muster! 😁🤞 While I have yet to fall pregnant after my HSG, my MCs, or even after surgeries; I know of many, many, MANY women (such as yourself) who have. Just the sheer fact that it can occur makes me hopeful that it "could" happen to me. Thank you again.

    Hi ladies,

I'm sorry to be absent from posting but I have been following along with each of your stories. I'm out of the county so internet time has been spotty and my schedule is all over the place, but I just tested and it looks like a very unambiguous negative so I am not holding out much hope for this cycle... It's weird it's 16 dpo and I don't feel any symptoms of pregnancy, or pms so... 🤷‍♀️

    Will check back in later.

I was thinking about the POAS boards system. I know there have been a new one every month for a long while now, but that means we have two parallel threads for about a half or a third of a month every time.

What if we stopped making a separate board each month, but just made a board and chatted for about 20 or 30 pages and then made a POAS board no2 and so on?
We could still make up fun titles or refer to months or seasons in the board names, but it just wouldn't be so rigidly connected to the actual POAS dates. I hope you understand what I mean.

What do you think, bad idea, good idea or no difference?

  15. yellowbeach

    nectarine / 2648 posts

@paranundrum: I think that makes a lot of sense actually... and then you'd do the POAS dates to include both those months you are bridging - and maybe even 3 months down the road since many ladies here are doing AF and know they will do IUI in "Sept" rather than a specific date yet.

  16. SweetCaroline

    pear / 1718 posts

@paranundrum: That's a fantastic idea! 6 months ago or so, my POAS dates were right at the end of the month and I felt like everyone else had moved on.

Hey, ladies, just got back from the RE. 1 follicle on each side, a bit of pooled blood and a tiny blip (which the tech couldn't identify as either retained mass tissue or a globular of blood seperate from the pooled blood). Bloodwork was taken and I should have my answer later today.

@MoonMoon: Keeping my fingers crossed. 🤞

@paranundrum: If you would like, I will start a "POAS 2019 Board - Sept to Dec" at the end of Aug/start of Sept. I do like that idea very much but having the months grouped means the roster needs to be updated differently. Which would be your preference:
    (1) a roster with all 4 months included ... Example:

    Sept POAS
    1 sept -
    5 sept -
    Etc.

    Oct POAS
    12 oct -
    20 oct -
    Etc.

    Nov POAS
    2 nov -
    15 nov -
    Etc.

    Dec POAS
    8 dec -
    31 dec -
    Etc

    No POAS
    TBD -
    Drop-in BFP-

    (2) or similar to what we have, and then as the next month changes, we update it month-to-month? Example, September POAS would be cleared out at the end of Sept and any remaining bees (along with new POAS bees) would be placed on the next roster (October). This means there would be multiple [separate] rosters on one board instead of a single running roster.

Not to sway you, but I kind of prefer the first choice as it is less work [flipping back and forth to update] and looks cohesive.

@yellowbeach: Yes, I thought so too, I probably have IVF waiting for me in November as well.

@SweetCaroline: Excactly, my most recent POAS date was July 31st and the next one is August 26th.

@Kaohinani: You can start it and then we'll have a nice template to go by in the future, but I can start it as well if you'd like to take a break from moderating. We will probably co-moderate in any case, since it will be an ongoing thing.

I don't have a preference on updating the roster either way, you can choose. Only thing is, I just would like to be able to copy and paste from the last update, make the changes needed and post.

  23. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@paranundrum: I don't mind starting it and I have no problem updating it but with 4 months of rosters, it becomes a long-term commitment. I am glad you are willing to help with updates. Thank you.

Choice #1 will be the easiest to cut-and-paste, as well as, to add new dates when we are in between POAS cycles from one month to the next.

Happy summer, ladies! Been taking a bit of a mental health break but ready to pop back in this cycle.

    • Cycle Day: 11
    • TTC Cycle (or months TTC): Cycle #6
    • Ovulation Date: Est Aug 18
    • POAS Date: Aug 30
    • Baby #: 3

    BONUS, For Fun:
    (1) Is there anything exciting you'd like to share? Headed to the Cape on Monday for a week with two other families!
    (2) Do you have any exciting plans for the last month of summer (* vacations, reunions, anniversaries, or birthdays)? See above. Enjoying the last week of summer before the older one starts first grade.
    (3) Are you trying anything "different" this TTC cycle? Husband has been traveling a lot so we haven't gotten a chance for great timing - hoping to do SMEP as much as possible though he will be away Thurs/Fri so we shall see...

@maybebaby: Welcome back! I am glad that you have had a nice break from the board and are mentally refreshed. I am envious that you will be vacationing at the Cape. The last time I vacationed there, I was in my 20's. I will add you to the roster (which is posted above), momentarily. 😁

You guys... here’s the insane thought running through my mind right this second as I sit at a Cheesecake Factory enjoying a beer and lettuce wraps as I wait for my train home...

What if this ERA comes back positive and says we’ve been putting all our eggs in the wrong basket, doing our only chance at pregnancy each cycle at the wrong time... now mind you, we aren’t BDing during any of this, in fact, have probably BDed about 5-10 times in the last 18 months since it’s restricted for a good portion of each IVF cycle...

What if we should have just been trying naturally all along? 🤦‍♀️

  28. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@yellowbeach: I think that would be spectacular to receive a positive ERA simply because you'd have a definite answer for your current infertility, as well as, because you'd have something new to ponder attempting to "shake things up" and get your rainbow BFP.

P.S. Your lunch sounds tastier than mine was (tomato soup with almond flour crackers)!

  29. yellowbeach

    nectarine / 2648 posts

@Kaohinani: well / there was a typo there. Said beet and lettuce wraps but just corrected it to beer 🍺 😉

    @yellowbeach: 🤔😶😶😶🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I assumed "beer" was a typo, however I thought you were having "beef and lettuce 🐄🥬" not "beets and lettuce 🌰🥬!!!" 🤦‍♀️ Both sound good but I think "beer and lettuce 🍺🥬" takes the cake 🍰. 😉

    Update:
    E2 was 102
    P4 was 1.07
    Prolactin was 5.12
    TSH was 2.80
    LH was 2.9
    AND
    B-HCG was 11.

I go back Sunday for a follow up.
This (Aug to Sept) will be a TI cycle and, provided there are no further complications, Sept will be my IUI.

  32. yellowbeach

    nectarine / 2648 posts

@Kaohinani: Ok, I hate to play doctor on here but I’d say what you have labeled as “tissue” is just physiologic free fluid (normal) and what’s in your endometrium at the 7o’clock position might have been your GC. But we won’t speak of it.

  33. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@yellowbeach: I couldn't remember which she was pointing to at the moment I took the picture. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Thank you for correcting my labeling faux pas. 🙏 I appreciate you taking the time to correct me ... You are the doctor 👩‍⚕️. I will remove the erroneously labeled U/S immediately. Thank you, again.

P.S. while I have you on here, my numbers seem weird to me. I asked the PA if those were accurate and acceptable and I got, "Well, those are your numbers ... You have a very low HCG level and 2 follicles. We will bring you back on Sunday to retest." What do you think?

  34. yellowbeach

    nectarine / 2648 posts

@Kaohinani: What did the rest of your chart end up looking like?

  35. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@yellowbeach: I have no clue. 🤦‍♀️ The PA relayed the message to me over the phone. I have the numbers she gave me, and the 2 pics I took during the U/S. I would just assume that my LH should be lower for an 11 B-HCG. Would the follicles affect my LH? Most of my numbers seem fairly high (from past CD3 numbers) but I assume the HCG would cause that ... my LH level doesn't make sense to me. I am assuming that my HCG is decreasing exponentially quickly from the 1st tests I took at 7 and 8 dpo which is why I actually have follicles and weird numbers? Or, my natural HCG is high bc perimenopause is creeping up. But in that case, my numbers do not make sense either. I am so confused.

  36. yellowbeach

    nectarine / 2648 posts

@Kaohinani: oh wasn’t sure if you’d kept temping this cycle or not

  37. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@yellowbeach: Gotcha. 🤔 I was confused (my numbers have me beyond perplexed so I think I my poor little brain flatlined for a moment there 😵🤪😳), and I thought you meant my medical chart. 🤦‍♀️🤣 No, as soon as I began spotting, I stopped. Dumb, I know. Affixed is my Temodrop-OvaVue chart (with temps) since it is the easiest to immediately access.

Not TTC related, but if anyone needs a good cry, this https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2194499/?ref_=nv_sr_1?ref_=nv_sr_1 did the trick for me. I was completely unprepared, I was expecting an cringey teen movie, but it turned out to be meaningful and a bit sad.
