@nicole112: I doubt it would hurt to mention to the OB that you're worried about nothing happening and ask for her advice. Maybe let her know you're meeting with the RE and see if there's anything particular about you or your file that she would suggest asking/bringing up?
And I hear you on the insurance woes. I was looking into some SUPER high charges from my ENT and seeing what insurance would cover. I knew it wouldn't cover most fertility treatments (IUI or IVF) but I hoped it would at least cover treatment of the underlying causes of infertility.
Looks like nothing is covered. So I'm *really* hopeful I don't end up having to make a WTF appointment.
And if I switched to DH's insurance, I'd have Kaiser. And I LOVE my doctor and don't want to have to wait another 6 months to a year with Kaiser to get to the point of being able to test.

@MaryM: Thanks lady! I will talk to her, I think. Insurance makes is so much more stressful…like it's stressful enough!! That's another thing…if I switch to my job's insurance vs choosing a better plan with DH's job I would have to switch most of my MD's (most likely) and there are two hospitals near me and my sister is a L&D nurse at one of them and right now I'd have my babies at the hospital she works out and if I switch to my job I'd most likely have to have my babies at the other hospital (and change my obgyn and everything!) Grr..so annoying but whatev's! Whatever is meant to be, I guess!

Hey there girls, just popping in to share a cute little article I found on why we should have sex with our husband's every night... It was a good reminder for me. TTC is so hard and puts a strain on the sex life so I'm goin to work on nurturing it back to AWESOME whether it's fertile week or not

@nicole112: yes, talk to her. Maybe don't even mention the RE until after you hear what she tells you. Then fill us in on what she said!

@nicole112: Unfortunately, I think that type of coverage is really common. I have *great* health insurance, but it does not cover any procedures (IUI or IVF) or associated meds.

@organicmama: That was a cute article. Buttt, it ain't happening. Too tired LOL
pomelo / 5129 posts
@dc yoga bee: I think I saw a commentary on this article that suggested maybe it isn't necessary to go as far as the author and actually have sex every night, but at least to make the effort to have some physical contact (even simply a hug...albeit a hug with feeling, maybe a little longer than usual) daily.
That's more my style.

@organicmama: Soooo well I guess it was hard to keep the RE from her because it was already "in the system" from the other MD at the same practice (idk why I didn't think of that! durrhh!) So the clomid talk didn't come up because I kind of got the vibes that the RE will take over from here on out. I did ask her about my progesterone levels and she did agree that they were low (they were 6.3 on CD 21 a few cycles ago) and she said she likes to see them 15 or higher…greaaat. But maybe it'll be an easy fix. She said that the RE will most likely do a repeat test for that. Sooo I'm glad I went because she's a super nice doctor and easy to talk to but agh I just want answers.
I'm feeling very impatient. I'm just feeling "done" and "over it". The stress of it all is definitely getting to me. I'm trying to hang in there though. These past couple of days I've been so emotional and DH is amazing. He's so supportive with everything. I really can't ask for more with that! He wants this just as bad as I do and we have such a great relationship that it really helps to have him at my side. Next week when we see the RE, it'll be one day after we get back from our mini vacay so we will be nice and relaxed after spending days on the beach!
We leave on Sunday and come back Thursday and of course is interferes with the fertile window…towards the end of the trip…so we shall see! haha. I'm going to try to get away from all technology and just focus on de-stressing and relaxing! Can't wait!!

@septca: Yeah, I think you're right. Our deductible is just super duper high and we've (somehow) met it…so I feel better about going and I now def want to go before the year is over! So we shall see! I know most plans don't cover infertility treatment but now my mind is a more at ease!

@nicole112: good luck with your RE consult. I'm hoping you might not need it though as there have been some ladies who got their BFPs right before their RE appts! I have awesome insurance, but I'm sad that IVF is not covered as that is our next step.
@MaryM: amazing! FX for everyone who is going into their fertile window! Hopefully this super moon moon month will yield lots of BFPs!
@organicmama: I agree with @dc yoga bee: about being tired. I make it a point that DH & I kiss before we sleep (even if one of us is already asleep) and before we leave for work in the morning. Also, being seen by an RE, it's better that we BD EOD rather than ED to ensure that we get plenty of healthy sperm.

I may have come across as promoting daily sex. Let me just clarify ... I was thinking more along the lines of @marym's comment about daily physical touch. More frequent sex (just for fun sex) is always a plus, dont get me wrong. But I've seen us going FAR too long with no touching
We kiss in the a.m. before work and at night before bed, but I like some intentional, loving, and even frisky touching. Just to let each other know we're still very much interested!

@organicmama: that sounds more attainable. Nah, I'm too tired j/k!!
Does anyone know of Babi opks have a fade in to positive? Tonight was my first night using them, and I see two lines, but it's not as dark. I wonder if it'll get progressively darker?
kiwi / 636 posts
@organicmama: I told DH about sex everyday and he was all on board, then I said I was tired. He was not amused.
@dc yoga bee: I just ordered Babi OPKs to try since I sometimes get confused with the wondfos. It seems like the Babi OPKs take longer to change color in my opinion.

I want to join! I am SOOOO hoping this is our month!
Months ttc: 15
Cycle day: 25
POAS date: August 12
This month I have had a lot going on... Clomid 100mg days 5-9, day 13 ultrasound showed 2 21mm follicles. Trigger shot on day 13, MAJOR cramping on Tuesday morning. Had IUI that morning. 7 day progesterone check was over 40!!! All things seem like they are going well.
Trying not to symptom spot, but having some very light nausea, lots of burping, cramping off and on, can't stop peeing and I am SO sleepy! I am trying not to get too excited because all of my symptoms could be due to my progesterone level, but FINGERS CROSSED!!!
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!! Congrats @Lilyofthewest!!!!

@fotolori1: that sounds promising!
Ladies, don't you just hate when you have all the promising symptoms - nausea, twinges etc.... but it is CD5

Well, post miscarriage AF is weird, but she appears to be here. Onto month 12. Feeling defeated for so many reasons. Trying to have confidence that many first infertility appt next week will go well...

Hanging out at cd 6 over here. Found this bumoer sticker on Amazon and thought of my HB ladies. So apparently we've been doing it all wrong! Lol!

@keppa: I'm sorry sweetie. Hoping you get some definitive answers at your appt.

@fotolori1: yes! I am so glad you joined us. We need some mid-month POAS love.
@dc yoga bee: I have heard that people like the Babis because they don't have as much fade in as the Wondfos. But I always have a substantial second line - even far before O.
@Keppa: Welcome back.

@fotolori1: everything is crossed for you my dear!

Thinking of all of you and anticipating a lot of BFPs!

EWCM showed up right on time this morning, so it's showtime. DH and I had a little chat this morning about giving this cycle our all. There's nothing quite like the conversations that happen over Windsor knots and mascara wands...

@fotolori1: Welcome!!!
@organicmama: Maybe I'm not drinking enough alcoholic beverages
@busylizzy111: LOL!!!
@Keppa: Boo AF. I'm sorry. ((Hugs)). I hope this month is it.
@septca: your am chats are too funny. Ours was about how Tucker Barnes the weatherman said how awful Into The Storm (new movie out) is acting wise, but had cool special l effects. I still want to see it! Dh was listing all the reasons it's dumb. Then I added in, "hey we should really have sex tonight." Dh:"If you're not too tired." L....O...L!!! I told y'all I'm always too tired!

@dc yoga bee: I think they do (I've only used them one month though).
But, similar to Wonfo's, the test line rarely gets *quite* as dark as the control line. It's pretty close and when I double check with a digital, the digi gives me the sexy smiley face. So I've stopped worrying too much about it being as dark or darker.
@lazypanda: I agree that the babi's take longer, but to me, they seem to be more clear. With wondfos my lines might be half light and half dark. I feel like the dye is stronger in babis.
@fotolori1:
!!!!
@Keppa: So many hugs. I found the first few cycles post-MC to be anything but "normal." I'm pretty convinced there is no such thing as normal anymore! Good luck with your appointment! I'm glad you have that to look forward to!
I'm not quite as hopeful as I was yesterday. I went into FF and compared some charts. I thought my temps were higher than usual, but they're not. My coverline is just significantly lower? I have far less spotting, so that's hopeful. And I still feel weirdly crampy.

I was visiting NYC yesterday. I wanted to see St. Patrick's cathedral, but based on the map I looked at, it was out of the way and we wouldn't have time. Then we happened to walk by it (yea God!). There were a ton of chapels including one of St. Elizabeth, one of the patron saints of pregnant women, and I prayed at that one and the several for Mary. I had a good feeling, though this could be me convincing myself once again that I will get my BFP. Then we went to the gift shop and they had mini rosaries (one decade and a special medal) with prayers for about 8 things, including infertility. I bought that and so hoping this is a sign from God. I can't share it with many people, so I figured you ladies would understand.

@AmeliaBedilia: !
My mom wants to come to the National Shrine for the feast of the assumption next Friday so I'm going with her. I'm hoping either I'll have a BFP by then and can thank god for it, or that maybe being there for the day might help me let go a little bit and put it in God's hands.
Was St. Patricks still under a lot of renovation? My work had an event there a couple months ago and the photos were underwhelming.

@MaryM: It is still under construction, but still gorgeous (what we could see) and the energy I felt was overwhelming. As for the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, which refers to the conception of Mary- her mother (St. Ann) was old, and is the patron saint of infertility and conception difficulties. Prayers and

@AmeliaBedilia: You know what, I am such a dummy. I so used to calling it simply the Basilica or the Shrine. I associate it with being Marian, but hadn't really thought about it's full name. I'm feeling even better about our visit now!
And thinking I need to stop in there more often. As close as it is to me, I really should go more than the 2-3 times a year that I do.

@organicmama: lol @ the sticker. Is that all it takes?!
@Keppa: my post cm cycles were all over the place too. In fact, it took 5 months to get back to "normal." I'm so sorry.
@dc yoga bee: my Babi OPKs usually show a slight line, then go *BAM* positive.
My WTF appt is in an hour! I'm nervous.
nectarine / 2192 posts
@MaryM: Glad I can be helpful. I think the official name is the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. DH and I love visiting beautiful churches, and we will be in DC in October. I am putting it on the "must visit" list.
For those of you who are interested in patron saints, these are the ones who have a link to us TTC ladies.

@AmeliaBedilia: If you have time, also head up the street to the Franciscan Monastery. It's not as famous, but just as pretty (if not prettier). They have amazing gardens! And there's a new development in the area so there are more lunch/dining options if you do travel between the two. Let me know when you're coming if you need more info (or if you want to meet up if it's during the week!)

I had to cancel the appt.
The office called and said it would be hundreds of dollars to even talk to the guy, even an initial WTF appt. Apparently, he codes everything as "infertility" that isn't the normal well woman exam, and like everyone else, My insurance infertility coverage sucks.
I guess I'll have to use the ultrasound order my PCP gave me and see how far I can get with him, since it's cost prohibitive to even see my other doc.
I'm so frustrated/mad/sad. It shouldn't be this hard.
pomegranate / 3595 posts
@Crystal: what?!?! Oh no! I can't believe they didn't let you know about the cost in advance. You must be so disappointed--I am so sorry! I hope you can figure out some things with your pcp and don't need to go back down that route. Hugs!!

My ultrasound appt is scheduled for what I assume will be 3DPO. I asked the scheduling office and they said it shouldn't ruin any chances, but this far in to ttc, I'm nervous to do anything that might effect it.
