    @Crystal: You should be absolutely fine with an U/S at 3 DPO. They will likely be able to give you some info about O at that point, too, which is nice.

    I am not sure how aggressive your OB/PCP is willing to be, but she should be able to order a multitude of tests (u/s, CD3 and 21 blood work, SA, HSG, etc,) for you without seeing an RE. I am sorry that I can't remember off the top of my head what you have already had done, but I think not all of that, right? All of that is diagnostic so should be at least somewhat covered by insurance. ((hugs)) and . I am rooting for you!

    @MamaCate: I'm so annoyed! My insurance gave me incorrect information when I called them about the coverage in the first place, so it took me by surprise. And I have a referral, and this is just a diagnostic stage. Ugh, so annoyed. I guess I'll have to start with the PCP to see how much info I can get before starting with the OBGYN.

    Honestly, I feel crushed at the moment. I didn't resize how much hope I was pinning on this.

    @septca: nope, I haven't done anything. Just general hormone blood work.

    I'm hoping I can talk to him about my insurance issues so he can order some tests coded as anything other than infertility so I have better coverage. Then, when I do have to be handed off to the OBGYN I can have most preliminary things covered so I won't have to waste time/money/effort. If not, we'll just save and have to wait it out for now.

    I just don't want to wait. I'm so sick of waiting.

    @AmeliaBedilia: we lit a candle and said a prayer to Mary at notre dame in Paris. Literally conceived that night after 12 cycles of nothing. I hope you have the same luck...or intervention

    @Tidybee: darn, I went to Sacre Couer and lit a candle there. Should have done so at Notre Dame instead.

    @LindsayInNY: Beautiful pics!!!

    @Crystal: I'm sorry. That is not cool for them to give you mis-information. I'm really hoping you won't even need that wtf apt, b/c you're going to get your bfp this month

    @Tidybee: That sounds absolutely beautiful!!!!

    @MrsMcD: hi! How are you?

    @dc yoga bee: thanks, friend. That's what makes me so upset, stupid insurance giving wrong information and miscommunicating with the dr office.

  15. dc yoga bee

    @Crystal: But kuddos to the doctor's office for double checking beforehand. I was super afraid when I was going to have surgery that the doctor would send me some ridic thousand dollar bill. The insurance told me it was $150, and then the doctor charged me $275. Almost double, but I was glad it wasn't thousands of dollars. Turns out, the doctor was wrong, and I just got a check in the mail (5 months after the surgery). Can you check with ins again, bc it's only testing you're seeking right now right?

  16. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

    @dc yoga bee: they cover 50%, so I'm going to consult my PCP to see if he can recommend a better OBGYN. My current OBGYN wanted to charge me over $500 just for an office visit, and bloodwork and testing and everything else will be extra. That's a far cry from the $30 I was told it would be originally. Since he has a private practice, he chooses his own rates. He's contracted with my med group, so I'm going to explore other options.

    My PCP coded the exploratory ultrasound as preventive care, not infertility, so I'm hoping I can get a bit more done under him.

    @Crystal: @MamaCate: Hi girls! I'm great! Except I'm still at my office working. Ugh. Not yet in the TWW of this current TTC cycle. And I'm weaning myself off HB! How are you girls doing??

  18. MamaCate

    pomegranate / 3595 posts

    @MrsMcD: oh no! why at work so late? i couldn't handle that!

    and, why weaning off HB? we have missed your positive energy around here!

    as for me, hanging out at 11dpo finding reasons not to test until we get a little closer. trying not to over think it but we'll see. good news is DH is off all weekend so that should be fun and i had a good week overall. TGIF

    @LindsayInNY: Wow, amazing pictures! I bet it's so hard to get a wedding there- how long did it take you?

    @Tidybee: Love your story, thanks!

    @Crystal: Sending hugs and hoping this all gets straightened out.

    @MrsMcD: What do you mean, weaning off HB? I find this totally unacceptable.

    Probably 4DPO. Visiting one of my best friends this weekend. I'm having a great time, but I miss DH too.

    @MamaCate: Thanks for missing me!! I have a trial coming up that I'm working hard to prepare. Also, I'm going to Palm Springs tomorrow for a night with my sister so I don't want to be worried about any work. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this cycle is it for you!! Gees... 11 dpo... that's an exciting and nail biting time.

    @AmeliaBedilia: Haha! You are funny! Enjoy your girl time this weekend. I'm totally doing the same.

    @AmeliaBedilia: thanks. Either way we'll get something done, but it will likely take a bit longer than we thought. When are you headed home?

    Took one for the team and POAS this morning at 10 dpo - negative. Truthfully, I won't be bummed this cycle, my new job is less flexible than my old job and I have no idea how I will afford daycare!

    pomegranate / 3595 posts

    @KelLeeLeee: sorry about bfn but thanks for keeping is up to date! I like your attitude!

    @MrsMcD: hope you are having fun in Palm Springs!

    I am over here at 12dpo with temps still up but distracting myself from testing until AF is late. I don't feel different but I am less convinced that symptom spotting really means anything.

  24. AmeliaBedilia

    nectarine / 2192 posts

    @KelLeeLeee: Hang in there, and way to see the silver lining!

    I have been having weird dreams, including that my period came early, and I was totally devastated, but also two different nights dreamt that I got a BFP. This is cycle 17, and if it isn't this month, I am going to be so disappointed after taking a trip during TWW, and my whole St. Patrick Cathedral/finding an infertility rosary there, etc. If this isn't the month, I am going to focus on my conference, though I may or may not be able to go if I get my BFP next cycle.

    To add to the challenge, I have to decide if I am taking the new job insurance or sticking with the old one, and what to do on my aflac. Of course, it depends on when I get pregnant (assuming I do). I need to confirm, but the new job's deductible cycle is supposedly 7/1-6/30. If I get pregnant in this cycle or the next two, it would be great, since the deductible won't reset in the middle of a pregnancy. I am trying to decide whether to keep my aflac hospital policy- I get $1000 if I get hospitalized or go to the ER, including delivery. As if TTC didn't present enough financial challenges, it is tough to have more.

    @kelleeleee: sorry to hear about the bfn but girl you know the game's not over yet!

    @mamacate: how on Earth are you not testing on 12 dpo? That's amazing. And admirable. And just crazy!! I do get it though. BFNs are the worst!!Hoping you won't see one though!!!

    AFM, I just took my last clomid pill for this cycle (cd7) and the headaches are back. Not too terribly bad but I am in bed before 10 on a Saturday night if that tells anything about my mood. Have been so preoccupied with lesson planning and classroom decorating that I haven't been to the gym in probably a week. That always puts me in a funk. But tomorrow is a new day! And supposed to be a beautiful one, at that!

    @mrsmcd: how did you tolerate the clomid? I miss you! Stop trying to break up with us!!

  26. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

    @AmeliaBedilia: can you see what the pregnancy coverage will be at your new job?

    @MamaCate: I am so impressed you haven't tested yet! When do your temps normally fall?

    @organicmama: can you plan in some gym time tomorrow? I hope your headaches go away soon.

    @KelLeeLeee: you're not out yet!

  27. MamaCate

    pomegranate / 3595 posts

    @organicmama: @Crystal: temps usually start to fall today so I may be more optimistic tomorrow if things are still up. I think I am more risk-averse (and cheap) than the average poas-addict. Every month when I wait and end up getting AF, I am glad I didn't waste the 2 FRERs that I have in the house and tell myself I should remember this for next time.

    Would you believe me if I said when I got by BFP with LO, I was on CD39 and about 20DPO? That was extreme even for me but there were some wonky things with the previous cycle and I had wasted 3 tests the previous cycle with no luck!

    @AmeliaBedilia: hoping this is the cycle for you! so glad you have had some fun adventures and good luck with the insurance stuff!

  28. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

    @MamaCate: that's why I order cheapies from amazon. I will use the FRERs and digitals to confirm, but they are too $$$ to use all the time.

  29. MamaCate

    pomegranate / 3595 posts

    @Crystal: and i can't convince myself that i am going to "need" 50 tests so i just hold out with the one i have....

  30. AmeliaBedilia

    nectarine / 2192 posts

    @Crystal: I know the coverage, except I have to confirm that the HSA money work gives rolls over and when the deductible resets. Work insurance costs less with a higher deductible. If I don't get pregnant and stay healthy, it is definitely the way to go. If I get pregnant, I probably want to stay with what I have, except if it is the next three months since it would all be on one deductible cycle. If I When I get home, DH and I will sit down, do some math, and make a decision. It would be so much easier if I knew if/when this would happen.

    @MamaCate: Thanks! Hope this is it for you too, and I join you later this month on the due date boards. I also wait to test, unless I'm on progesterone (have to then). I tell myself that it doesn't change anything, and seeing a BFN is so hard!

  31. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

    @MamaCate: I keep hoping buying the big packs will give me a better chance. Like, since I have such a huge amount, I *have* to get KU so I won't be able to use them.

    @AmeliaBedilia: ain't that the truth. It would be soooooo much easier if we just knew what we would finally get our babies.

    @AmeliaBedilia: I kept my AFLAC policy when I switched jobs. I've already paid into it for over a year now so of I cancel it, I kinda lose money. I think after three years of paying, I'll break even?

    @organicmama: can you add me to the tbd group?

    I am not in a good place right now- I am at dh's place, like most of the weekends (remember we live in different cities during the week) and I started feeling bad this morning. That turned into a full blown fever a few hours ago. Can't return to my city tonight plus I am wondering wether it will affect O date... Please not! I was counting on next weekend...

    @AmeliaBedilia: I am facing a similar quandry with regards to insurance. My insurance is great, but DH & I were thinking of enrolling in his HSA so that the secondary insurance can cover what my insurance does not (IVF, if we end up having to go that route). I also know that when we have a baby & I take an extended maternity leave or leave without pay, we would have to pay a lot to keep our insurance plan through my work. The crazy things one must think about with TTC & IF. I do hope August has been an auspicious month for you especially with tonight's super moon & the Perseid meteor showers!

    @MamaCate: @Crystal: I've ordered so many cheapies on amazon now since I wasted so much $$$ on EPT/FRER/digitals in the first year of TTC. I do hope everyone does get their BFPs soon & even then, I'm pretty sure I'll also test pretty regularly to make sure I remain pregnant in the first trimester.

    @busylizzy111: I'm sorry you're feeling sick. I hope timing works out for you.

    @MrsMcD: good luck with your trial! I hated trial prep since I always got so nervous about testifying as an expert witness. I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore. I hope everything goes well for you!

    @organicmama: FX that the clomid does it's magic for you! Headaches sound terrible but I hope those are the only side effects you experience from being on them.

    My OPKs are getting darker so I hope this means I'm about to O soon, just in time for tonight's super moon! Last cycle I O'd without clomid on cd23 and today is cd18 on another non clomid cycle. With that being said, I'm thinking my POAS date might be 8/27, as an early test date.

    The past few days have been really hard for me, for some reason. I think having AF come for the first time after the m/c has just been a complete mindf*** to me. I feel like I could cry at the mere thought of trying next month again only to end up in the same place again. I confessed to DH that right now being pregnant seems about as likely as Santa Claus being real.

    I did some outdoor "hot" (only because it was 85 outside) yoga today and the instructor talked a lot about the different poses and how some of them are considered really great for the reproductive organs. I might be trying to do some of these every day, just in case they do help. I also looked up some mantras, such as "I'm doing everything I can to get pregnant," instead of "I'm never going to get pregnant."
    I'm hoping something will get my mind into a better state soon.

  40. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

    @Keppa: oh, friend. I'm so sorry. I think a lot of us have felt that way... I love the mantras you are looking at, and I think they are a great reminder to all of us to know we are doing everything we can. This is only your first cycle post-mc, take all the time you need to grieve and process your feelings. Mine still hits me occasionally and makes me feel hopeless, so I can completely relate to those feelings. All any of us can do is have some faith, rely on our partners, and give it all we've got.
