@LibbyLou: Ohh, the one who owns that restaurant where Fiona works?? I only just started this season. Thanks for the heads up! This was like a cultural learning experience for me!!!

@wrkbrk: they actually have 2 kids! Their daughter Riley is the star of the show and Augie is the younger brother. He's adorable.

Love August and love Gus! It sounds weird with our last name, but was on our list for a while because we loved it!

@wrkbrk: eh, it's okay. It's definitely meant for the current Disney Channel audience, but they do a good job of working in nods to the original viewers of the original series. That said, many of the plots are just repurposing of the originals. I started watching for the novelty of it since I was a big fan of the original show as a teenager, and now it's a bit of a guilty pleasure for me as a 31 year old!

@reyorra: Good to know! I am also 31 and I also loved it as a teen! Blame my parents for not getting us cable.

@wrkbrk: This name seems to be all the rage right now.
Personally, I think it's lovely! I really like the name August. But, be prepared it could be very popular soon, hopefully that doesn't bother you.
Not a fan of Gus, but I don't hate it either. I like Auggie/Aug as a NN. But, if you two love Gus, then I say go for it!

@WinterBee: Blah I thought we were choosing a NOT trendy name. It does bother me that it seems trendy, not gonna lie. That's the sole reason I gave up Liam!!

I like Gus. It reminds me of Gus(tavo) Fring from Breaking Bad. One of my favourite characters.

@wrkbrk: I wouldn't let that deter you, especially if you love it! No one is original anyways, and those names that are really original tend to be weird and hard to pronounce. lol

@birdofafeather: Thanks for commenting! We could also do Auggie but that sounds a bit more formal to me.

Gus reminds me of The Fault in Our Stars, and August/Auggie reminds me of Wonder. I voted meh because I'm indifferent about the name. It's not really my style, but I don't dislike it!

I like August, not a fan of gus. I just think of Gus Gus the chubby mouse in cinderella.

I think Gus is really cute but transitions well to adulthood. And there are worse things to be associated with than the fat little mouse

I love Gus for a little boy, but not for an adult. so I think calling him Gus and sometimes August to keep the full name alive until he grows up would be a good idea.

i knew a guy named August that went by Auggie, and it seemed pretty cool and fit him well. I think Gus is a cute nickname too!

@MrsHansen82: We were thinking about that - like just signing him up for school, etc, with his full name and he could go by either ...

@oliviaoblivia: your comment totally made me lol for some reason. But yeah, I think of the mouse from Cinderella too.
