Is it bad etiquette to bring your LO to a baby shower?

I would ask. I usually feel like babies are welcome but once I asked and was told no due to space issues.

I don't think so I brought LO to a shower when she was 6 days old! It was fun to show her off.

Definitely not! Unless it's a regional thing? I'm from the Midwest and it's pretty standard. I guess the only thing that might be weird is if you had an older son - if only because he would be bored/weirded out about all the pregnancy and childbirth conversations?

I would ask the people throwing it, but I wouldn't see an issue in it.

I enjoyed all the babies at my baby shower! I mean, it's all about babies right?!

I find it kind of odd, but that's just me and I have not been a shower host or a shower honoree. Babies steal the show, if your friend definitely likes all eyes on her and the baby shower is her moment to shine I'd keep the baby at home. However, just like you wouldn't bring an extra adult without asking the host first, I would run it past the hostesses.

Depends where it's at, too. Mine was at a nice restaurant and kids were not invited. Definitely ask

I can see it both ways- its all about babies, but also feel like they could steal focus from the mom-to-be. I recently went to a shower and there were a couple other babies there and it was no big deal.
Does it make a difference that I have twins? I think I'd only bring one, if I do.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime and SunshineandSushi: this was my first thought, too. Especially if the baby is young and people ask how the delivery went, etc. So for me, it depends.

I wouldn't have had a problem with it but I'd call and check.

We had babies in my shower and I was totally cool w it! I think it depends on where it is... If its at a stuffy restaurant, maybe not, but ok at someone's house? I'd ask!
