I am sooooo happy to say that my baby shower is over and done with, forever! As a bonus, there was a pretty good turnout and we got just about everything from our registries, plus gift cards to cover the rest. I was EXHAUSTED and emotional when yesterday ended and am really glad we didn't wait any later--I'm 33 weeks at the moment and I may not have been able to enjoy the party if the date was any later. My hand hurts, but I finished writing 22 thank you notes, WOOT! Now I just have to address 22 envelopes, get stamps and I can kick back and relax for the next 1.5 months, yeah! (and maybe find someplace to put all this stuff...)

Yay! That's AWESOME that you got everything plus gift cards!!! I'm really looking forward to our co-ed shower next week, just because I think it will be fun to see a lot of our friends and family. I'll be 33 weeks then too and my MIL had commented and asked why we were doing it SO EARLY? It just happened that there were too many different occasions the following weeks, but I'm glad it sounds like a perfect timing.

@shopaholic: I think you'll definitely be glad it's not any later! I feel like gravity is starting to work against me. All I've done today is church and hang around the house, but I'm tired & sore from yesterday (which only involved walking around/moving around/sitting, not anything crazy)...I can't imagine what I'll feel like in a month!

That is awesome you got so much that you registered for! It is awkward opening up gifts with everyone watching you. Hope you got some rest today!
I had my 1st one today and was nervous that so much wasn't purchased on my registry. But we got a lot we needed, but people just bought them at Target. I was shocked at how many pacifiers we got. She is going to have her pick of brands!

@shopaholic: My sister had my shower when I was 27 weeks & a few people commented that it was early (although at the shower they commented that it looked like I was ready to pop any day), but I'm glad it was! My twins were born at 33 weeks 4 days.

Glad it was a great shower! Haha, I know what you mean though! I had my regular shower at about 30 weeks but my husband's employees and clients just had one for me yesterday (35 weeks.) There were a ton of people there and it was so sweet and awesome - but I am seriously pooped - not to mention having a whole new crop of things to put away/wash and sooooo many TY cards to write and send! I'm tired just thinking about it!

@prettylizy: That's exactly how I feel! Happy I did it but very glad that it's over!
@ladyfingers: Use a felt-tipped pen or marker...it makes your hand hurt way less b/c you don't have to press as hard. But I always use ballpoint on envelopes b/c I'm scared they'll get wet and smear.
@JerricaBenton: Wow, the pressure is on, that's a lot to do in just a few weeks!
@Smurfette: Glad your first one is out of the way and that you got some good loot! Don't forget to take stuff off your registry that was purchased elsewhere.
Babies R Us missed a bunch of ours but somehow we didn't get duplicates! (magic I think)

@tororojo: ah good tip. After doing just 2 or 3 my hand hurt so bad and was cramping! It's never hurt that bad before. Pregnancy really does make just about everything suck, doesn't it?

@tororojo: Glad you get to relax this last month! Our showers will be back to back (Sat. & Sun.) The Sunday one is hosted by DH's co-workers, which is sweet, but probably a little more awkward for me.
@littlehunny: I BET with twins it's quite different! Twins do come early, so glad you got your shower when you did!

As someone who had her baby at 36 weeks, I think 33 weeks is great timing (almost a little late for my comfort- you need time to put all of your goodies away!) -
Oh god. This is not making me feel any better about my mil planning a shower for me at some point in march (no date yet) when I will be anywhere from 35-39 weeks. Ack.
I'm so glad you got so much from your registry! That's so awesome!!!!!! I'm not a shower person either so I understand where you're coming from

Wow - talk about getting your thank yous out quickly! It took me 6 weeks to get all of mine out . . . I had 75 to write! : / I did them in batches.

Hehe, thanks ladies! It makes me nervous to not have thank yous done, I think I'm just weird. But I have this fear of people thinking I'm rude so I wanted them in the mail and out of my possession!
@MsLipGloss: 75 thank you notes?! I can't even imagine. For our wedding notes, I wrote the ones for my guests and DH wrote the ones for his, so I've never had to do an insane amount.
