If your family was hosting/did host your baby shower at their house and space/budget was limited, did your mother-in-law invite friends to your baby shower? If so, did the MIL insist on inviting the friends, or did you offer to MIL to have her invite her friends?

I asked her for her guest list and she gave me a list of 5 of her closest friends. I think only 3 were able to make it!

I asked MIL for list and she gave me one, she invited way more friends than my mom did.

I only had 1 bridal shower (my aunt hosted at her house) and we asked for my mil's guest list then.
We had 2 baby showers. One my mom hosted at my parents' house and the other one was a co-ed shower at my in-laws' house.

My mil doesn't have much in way of friends. I asked if she wanted to invite her one good friend and she said no, even though she hosted with a BFF.

I think in your scenario I would probably check with the host. If it's ok, maybe tell MiL she can invite x friends?

She invited 4/5 of her coworker/friends. We told her the space was limited and asked for a list.
