@winniebee: Oh wow that must be tough to have your husband gone all day. Thank goodness for friends and family!

@artbee: yeah, it kind of sucks. he's in his residency and this week has just been a bad / long week for him. when i was in the hospital, he was able to finagle time off. he was off last weekend and is off this weekend, too, thankfully. the following weekend, i'm on my own and think i need to line up some visitors!

@winniebee: My dad was in his residency when my brother was born, it made it so hard for my mom! She would always have to be the one to wake up with him because he needed to sleep (I don't get why she didn't need to sleep too!). Hope that he's able to get some time or your have lots of help when the baby comes!

@artbee: He's entering his 5th and final year of residency in June (LO is supposedly due at the end of May....) and will have a much easier load then. He'll get a week off when the baby is born, a week off in July, and a week off in August, too, so that should be nice. I do know that while I'm on maternity leave and he is working I'll be doing most of the nightly wakeups, but when I go back to work, he'll need to do at least some of them!

@winniebee: That will be nice to have him there for so long! My husband also took a week off, and then worked from home for a week. But I did all the work with LO, he just wanted to be there just in case. One of his coworkers asked him if he does any of the night time wake ups, and he said yes. She was stunned, and said that I should be doing them all because he needed his rest for work. Ummm.... do I not need to be alert to take care of a newborn? And I couldn't nap when she napped, she napped on me! Good thing I wasn't there, I would have punched her.

Hey all! I made it another week since our pre-term labor scare - yahoo! Just 2.5 more weeks to go until 36 weeks, when I liekly will have restrictions lifted. Feeling much more positive now that I'm over halfway done with resting.
Hope everyone is doing well!

@winniebee: Yay, glad you and the baby are doing well! I'm no longer confined to the couch. the doctor ok'ed me for picking up LO. I just can't pick her up from the ground, bend over, or have any sudden movements. So I still need help, but at least I get to cuddle and play with LO now! Hope you're enjoying your resting time and are able to relax a bit!

@winniebee: oh winniebee you have made it so far!! If you get to the point where restrictions are lifted we are SO HAVING A MEETUP!!! We'll go have coffee!!! Somewhere close by both your house and the hospital.

@mrs. wagon: Yesss! PS do you work downtown? I forget!

@winniebee: yay, you are almost there! Good work keeping that little one cooking!

Almost there! You are lucky. They made me stay in bed til almost 40 weeks since LO was so small.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Mrs. Jacks: Thanks! Well, my OB said she thought she would lift my restrictions after my next appointment (36 wks, 2 days)...so I am hoping she doesn't change her mind. I didn't realize that you had been on bedrest with LJ....
@lemondrop: Thank you! It's such a relief to be this far along now.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Mrs. Jacks: Ugh! And I bet you couldn't do any work, right? At least I have that. All in, it will be about 6 weeks for me too. At one point they thought our baby was small, but the last fetal survey said 24th percentile, so OB's not concerned about his size. DH and I probably never were 24th percentile in our whole lives!

@winniebee: I did tons of work from home. I wrote a paper and did a bunch of administrative stuff... but it wasn't the same as taking care of patients, you know?
And our little one was off the chart small, (all the placenta's fault) so it was good that we kept growing her til 40 weeks!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Mrs. Jacks: No, definitely not the same. I'm glad it ended up being the right decision for you guys! DH is convinced that after all this, I'll go past my due date : ) While I would prefer that not to happen, so much better than delivering too early. No brainer!

@winniebee thanks for checking. Like u I have a good day then a bad day. My sciatic is getting worse boo. But overall I am ok. Saw the midwives this week so that cheered me up. They are awesome. Another week done that makes me happy.

@Ms.SK: Another week down is right. Glad to see you are still cooking those babes! Have you read the book "Bedrest?" I loved it.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Ms.SK: Hey there, just checking in with you to see how you are holding up? I'm now 37+1 and started adding in activity over the weekend. It was a long 6.5 weeks.....

@winniebee I am hanging in, thanks for checking. I snuck a pedi in last week, crazy how human you feel doing normal things. I need to do the 3 hour glucose test and get an iron infusion plus physical therapy so it will be a busy week. At least I won't be bored.
I am so happy you made it off bed rest, gives me some hope. Keep posting your outings so I can look forward to them - lol. Have fun and happy early bay to your hubby!

I'm now on bedrest at home for at least the next week. I went for a routine old lady baby weight check and they found my cervix had shorten a lot in the last month to the bottom of normal. So I'm on bedrest for a week at least. Off to research whether bed rest helps this or not.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@kayakgirl73: Based on my experience, bed rest does help your cervix not shorten further.
Good luck to you ladies...bedrest is a hard thing to do and I wish you all the best!
