DH and I are huge beer fans. I totally know what you means about loving the taste and not drinking to get drunk .. lots of people don't though!
I live in an area where microbrews are popping up EVERYWHERE. For a while, our go-to plan for out of town guests was to take them brewery/food truck hopping. Needless to say, that changed when I got preggo. I tried to be "cool" and tag along, but once I hit six months .... it was hard to have fun going from brewery to brewery and watching everyone taste different beers :P.

@mrsjazz: I know! I used to live in Queens and it sucked that it wasn't readily available in NYC. I'm so glad they have it in CT (but we don't have other beers that I love like Yuengling!)

@mrsmenow: we tried to have our wedding at lakefront brewery but they were booked like two years in advance.
DH wants a kegerator too, but I won't let him build it until we have a basement to put it in.

@KJfromNJ: I don't think we've tried that one before! But I've heard of/seen it. Have to add it to the list!

@kiddosc: So did we, lol
The kegerator was my way of encouraging him to work faster.

@drealeah: that's how it was when I lived in Indianapolis- very brewery friendly with newer breweries popping up, and food trucks too! Now in central FL there are lots of food trucks but NOT a lot of breweries. Sads.

@KJfromNJ: we'll have to try Fullsteam or Bull City next weekend. My parents are coming into town so we'll be able to get away!

@KJfromNJ: If you are ever in Wisconsin you are so welcome to stop by. It is the hang out of the neighborhood now complete with an actual dart board so we can play darts and drink beer with all of our neighbors and not need to worry about everyone finding a babysitter.

@mrsmenow: that sounds awesome! I wish we had friends in our neighborhood! I don't even think our neighbors speak English : /

@mediagirl: Fullsteam is awesome - very casual, good beer, and food trucks!

We're big craft beer lovers, too and my husband brews his own stuff often! We live in Oregon, the land of the craft beers, so we always have an awesome selection at the store. A few years ago Oregon had the most craft breweries per capita (I think we still hold that title)! Whenever I travel for work I always try to order local beer to see what else is out there, too.

@fussygal: I live in Oregon too! And boy do I love having craft beer everywhere! The small little town I grew up in even has their own brewery now and a few great beers. At the same time, I totally agree with you that I love to try craft beers everywhere we go to see what else is out there. DH and I call ourselves beer snobs (although only him now that I'm preggers). I also love the locally made hard ciders that you're starting to see more. Yum!

@fussygal: @marionberry: I read somewhere that Portland has the most craft breweries per capita in the world - made me really want to visit!
ETA: @fussygal I need to read better u already said that!! LOL

I was a beer drinker before pregnancy, but now after giving birth it's hard for me to drink the stuff (strange!) so I mostly drink mixed drinks now.

@jessiejo17: that is my worst nightmare!!!! But there are some SUPER tasty mixed drinks!

@mrsmenow: What part of Wisconsin are you in? We're moving back to the Milwaukee area later this year. In TX there are no basements and the garage is not a suitable beer storage environment when it's 107 outside, so I already gave up part of my eat in kitchen to his brew habit.

@kiddosc: We live in Madison, but DH is from the Milwaukee area so we go that way often. Maybe once you get settled we could do a Bee meetup!

I miss beer. We have so many local brews in New England. Love the stuff that comes out of Vermont. They make some good stuff.

@kjfromnj: I've been on a huge Double/Imperial IPA kick recently, and enjoying a whole range of different small brewer's ales, like Hop-A-Lot-Amus by River Horse Brewing, Burton Baton by Dogfish Head, Big A by Smuttynose, and Leviathan by Harpoon. Very tasty times.

@marionberry I've been ALL about the ciders lately, too! I'm trying to taste as many as I can while we're still TTC before it's too late!

@KJfromNJ: tell me about your favorite Indianapolis breweries! We live in the area and dont get out much and id love to try something new!

@MediaNaranja: oh my gosh I could write you a NOVEL! I love growler fill Friday at Sun King (downtown). Cheap if you own growlers. Love their beer. Also LOVE Thr3e Wise men in broad ripple. Amazing beer and food. And strangely love Rock Bottom on the north side- brewmaster Liz does an above average PHENOMINAL job. Simcoe IPA is great and the seasonals are too. What area of town do you live in?
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@MediaNaranja: oh and I also loved venturing to Bloomington- Upland and if you like wine, Oliver Winery!

I used to really enjoy beer! But I cut out wheat and had to stop drinking it...

@mrbee: Fresh market near us carries some GF beer, I bought it by accident once in a "build your own 6 pack" when I just grabbed all the IPA's and I didn't realize until my husband asked why I was drinking GF beer!!

@KJfromNJ: Bloomington is where I live, spent plenty of time at both those places! Thanks for the recs, we will have to check those out!

WOOHOOO IU! Hoo Hoo Hoo HOOSIERS! we are IU fans can you tell? DH went there I will ask if he has other ideas. However you would probably like my cousin's book. Indiana Breweries by John Holl and Nate something (clearly John is my cousin not Nate haha. I think it's like Schweber?)

@Rock n Roll: Those pics of your baby helping fill the bottles are adorable.
DH and I are also beer lovers. We're in Texas and we love Shiner. Classic Bock is my favorite, with Blonde running a close second. Blonde Light is my favorite light beer in general. I also love Fireman's #4. I'll only drink the mass market beers if nothing else is available.
I do admit to loving Blue Moon pumpkin beer. We saved some for me to have after LO was born in January. They're all gone. Tasted great.

We love craft beers, and DH is a big homebrew enthusiast. We just brewed an Allagash White clone and recently a Stella Artois clone too. Of course, I can have none of them
