@MrsLilybugg: Sorry, we seem to have gotten a bit off-topic here. To answer your original post, unfortunately, if common sense isn't enough to convince your friend it's not a great idea, there don't seem to be any studies you can point her to. I would just voice your concerns in a polite, non-aggressive way, and feel better knowing you tried to help.

@VEGMAMA: you raise a great point - how am I to know what happened in my house, for example, right before I moved in?
I guess she thinks once the baby is here it'll be the time table to have him stop. Because again they say it won't be happening in the house with baby around, which is where I think the "risk of toxic respiratory issues" etc. pointed in the studies @mslipgloss found would happen? I think unless I find something that says "residual toxins from residual marijuana third hand smoke affects SIDS" then I will not "win" the scientific debate. Which of course isn't necessarily a BAD thing because it's not like I wish I could find evidence that they may be "killing their baby" !!!!!!!!!!!
