@pepper: I have a belly button ring and am weirdly not looking forward to when I have to take it out. I've had it so long it feels like part of me. I did read that you can take fishing line and run it through the hole if you didn't want it to close up.

I took mine out right away. I was just uncomfortable and I was kind of over it.
When it stretched flat at the end of pregnancy, I got a stretch mark on the underside of it! You can't see it now because my innie went back to an innie but if I flip it up there's a weird wrinkly line inside my belly button, haha

I probably took mine out 10 year ago and there is still a hole there. At almost 32 weeks you can still the hole, but look filled it but you can still see that I use to have one.

I took mine out around month 3 or 4 and it's very flat now. It doesn't really bother me; I've had surgery on my stomach twice, so it's just another small scar, as far as I'm concerned!

I took mine out the day I found out I was pregnant hoping it would close up before I gew, didn't happen. It's still open (had it for 11 years) and looks weird now still after giving birth...

I still have mine in at 22 weeks- I got it when I was 16 or 17. I am 35 now... you do the math- I've had it longer than I haven't. I purchased this flexible one. You cut the post to the desired length and the balls are self-threading. I cut a length a little longer than my normal barbell. I took mine out about a year before pregnancy (after having it in for 10 years) and at 34 weeks it looks scary! If I think about it at home later I'll post a pic; it's really kind of horrifying.
