I'm 28 weeks and my belly still isn't very big. I'm starting to worry about fundal height. My doctor has measured it twice over the past month and hasn't said anything, so I'm assuming it's OK. I thought about measuring it myself, but I might do it wrong and worry more. Does anyone else worry about this? Here's my belly...

How tall are you? Some women just have a lot of space between their pelvis and thoracic cage! Looks like a beautiful, normal belly to me!

There are so many factors that go into belly size, like how you're carrying, how baby is positioned and your body shape. I'm 5'4 with a short torso and my belly mostly looked like a basketball because there was just no room to grow any other way. But I have a friend who has a much longer torso and her bump was wider and taller, but not as extended out. And a SIL who just looked bloated until well into the 3rd.
Try not to stress about it!

@Espion: haha.. Ok.. Makes me feel better. I just want to be bigger, I guess! I see some pics from other January 2015 mamas who are REALLY showing and it just really makes me wonder! And, I'm sure you look absolutely gorgeous.

@CatchAFallingStar: with your height, you have a long torso. Baby is more spread out. I looked similar to you at 20 weeks with the same height. I got much bigger near the end. Baby grows like crazy in final months.

@CatchAFallingStar: we are around the same height & I "carried small" as well. I kept thinking "wow, I love my big belly!" & people would always comment on how small I was lol. I seem to be carrying fairly small this time around as well. I had a doctor in my OB's practice once tell me "you're just tall so all the fat spreads out " lol. If your doctor isn't concerned, you shouldn't be. You look beautiful!

I have a very short torso and carry humongous babies. You look beautiful and your bump looks perfect. If your doctor isn't worried I'd just be happy that you haven't split two pairs of maternity pants this week like I have.

@CatchAFallingStar: I am about 5'9" and I always measured "short" with my fundal height. Don't worry about it, we just have long torsos! And we are lucky because I never got those dreaded rib kicks that people complain about. She minded her business down low 
I'm 40 weeks today and, even though my fundus doesn't extend to where a diagram might say it should, baby is healthy, happy, and super cozy... Unfortunately 
ETA I didn't really start super showing until the last 8 or so weeks, and then I exploded the last 4...

I'm 5'10" and carried/ measured small, too. We're lucky- we just have more room for baby in there You look great!

I am 5'8" and almost 23 weeks and I think I am huge, but everyone tells me I look really small or they don't notice. I think it's because I am tall and have yet to put on much extra weight. I was worried, but my midwife says everything is fine and the baby was in the 85% at my 20w scan.

I am only 5'2 and after my pregnancy got a lot of you were really big comments! Ironically I only gained 12 lbs the whole pregnancy so I think it is all perspective! You look great!

I never looked huge, the day I was induced someone told me I looked like I was only 6 months along at most! Lo was small but not below normal range-- she was 5lbs 13 oz when she was born at 37.5 weeks

I have a long torso and always measured small. I was sent for an ultrasound at 37 weeks. They found instead of LO being small she was really quite long and just tucked up in there. You're 2.5" taller and look bigger than I did at 28 weeks so I'm sure you're growing just fine.

I think you look great! Like others have said, body shape and bump shape have so much to do with it, too. I am always comparing myself to people who put weekly photos on FB and am constantly freaking out about not being as big as them...but all is going well at my appointments and baby girl is kicking the you-know-what out of me. We have to trust that everything's okay!

You look great! I measured small w fundal by almost two weeks! Still had a 8 lb 11 oz baby at 40w3d!
Eta I'm almost 5,8" and gained nearly forty lbs this was me at 24 & 30 wks

@CatchAFallingStar: you look great! You just have a long torso so there's more room for the baby to spread out. Your doc would tell you if there was a concern.

Girl, you look awesome! I wish I had carried that small! I didn't and was left with the stretch marks and abdominal separation to prove it!

I'm 5'8" and carried small for a long time, but by the last 8 weeks I was huge, unfortunately. Try not to worry too much.
