I just realized our little one (7 months yesterday) only has little handheld toys (rattles, animals, blocks, etc.), but nothing at her eye line or above. Now that she's sitting, I feel like there might be some toys that would be beneficial to her. Any ideas? What were your LO's favorites?

We have something similar to the turtle @2PeasinaPod: posted except ours has dials that turn other dials on the shell, but can also be pressed for songs/educational stuff.
DS also liked playing with his activity mat since it "grew" with him. I pushed the locking mechanism forward so that the toys would be more in front of him than on top of him. stacking toys and blocks. She now actively stacks and sorts them, but was still VERY interested in the shapes when she got them for Christmas, at almost 8 months old.

Oh and although not really toys, she is obsessed with books...every morning the first thing she does is pull all her books out one by one and look through them.

LO is 12 months old. This has been a favorite for at least a few months. Best part is it doesn't require batteries and doesn't play music/other annoying sounds.

I second the fisher price table from the first post. Once they can stand - thats ALL they will want to do. And Olivia would cry because our coffee table was boring - haha. Also the V tech walker - she's just now at 9.5 months using it as a walker, but she sat and played with the front piece since she could sit, and I have a feeling it'll be around awhile. Besides those, her favorites are an empty water bottle, a solo cup, my car keys, one of her plastic spoons - haha all non toys she loves!

stacking toys, nesting cups, and books have been her favorites since forever. when she got closer to age one, my parents got her a Haba wagon and she LOVED it. Still plays with it daily at 15 months. Oh, and all kinds of balls.

The Baby Einstein music table is one of our most used toys. I started letting her play with it during tummy time (took the top part off the legs and laid it on the floor) then once she could sit up, she would sit in front of it and hit the keys and buttons. Now at 12 months, she loves standing at it, walking around it, and playing the music-- as well as using it for a walker and pushing it around the living room. I'm partial to this one because I like the music it plays, but any activity table like that is a great one for this age.
@illumina: C does the same thing-- we put all her books in a basket every night, and every morning, she pulls them out one by one. Takes enough time for mama to have her coffee in peace.

Stackers and anything she could dump things out of or put things in, so shape sorter and block toys, we're a favorite in the pre crawling and crawling days. She still enjoys most of those still at 14 months.
