One of my besties very recently had a baby and it also happens to be her birthday. She playfully joked that because their birthdays were so close together, that hers would now be overlooked. What's a good gift to give a new mom? Nothing extravagant - just something thoughtful that she would enjoy, use, etc. preferably not baby related...or do you think it's better to get her something baby related? I thought about spa / massage / pedi (pamper) gift certs but would love more ideas. Thanks!

A gift certificate to get pampered would be really lovely. However, since she's likely to be very busy with the new baby, perhaps something she can enjoy at home would be appreciated.
As an avid reader, I would enjoy a new book or a kindle gift card. Or, perhaps a subscription to Netflix, or a boxed set of her favorite TV series, if that's more her speed. A nice, lightweight robe for around the house, or a pair of amazing slippers?

I second @deerylou's suggestion about getting something she can enjoy at home. I'd also get one small baby related thing because I loved getting new stuff for my LO.

If she's breastfeeding, a shirt that fits her new body! Hah, or maybe that's just what I want right now
A pedicure appt would be great especially if it came with an offer to watch the baby so she could actually go.
